Actually, another cheaper, easier, less scary, and effective solution would be to tape up the seams in your hood and front fenders/grill. A few people have been doing this, and it works.

Improves aero pretty well actually too. Put the tape on at the track, take it off when you leave. There's a Racecar Engineering issue with actual wind tunnel data somewhere.

But your hood is pretty good, and i'm impressed with the workmanship. I was expecting a hand saw job with jagged sheetmetal.

Your's looks quality (and hot).

thanks for the mostly positive feedback.

tapping up the hood will not help the fact that so much air is entering the grill that it cant be expelled. this causes lift that is bad in many ways, esp on our understeering STIs. the tape will fix the symptom, not the base problem.

i cut tho holes with a nibbler and then used small trim to hide any small irregularities. the pattern is because i cut the spaces between the ribs/supports so that i wouldnt reduce the strength of the hood.

my hood was exhibiting lift at the front sides starting at about 75mph an was really bad by 120. this mod fixed most of the problem but it is still not perfect.
