Default What Springs and Sway Bars Would you Reccomend?

I Have an 07 STi brand spankin new and i want to put lowering springs and sway bars on it i'm looking for close to a 1.5" front drop and about a 1" rear drop...now the question what should i use? I don't want Tien's cuz i've had bad luck with those so those are out of the question and as for the sway bars I heard the Cusco and Cobb ones are awesome...What Setup do you use and how is the ride quality/stiffness? Too harsh for daily driving?

Just need some advice
Thanks

RCE springs, Whiteline 27-29mm front sway and 24mm rear sway. Also tack on Kartboy rear endlinks and Group-N strut tops (or RCE non-lowering camber plates up front).

I would agree, but for a daily driven car, I would go for STi JDM Pink springs instead.

Why do you think pinks over RCE for daily driving?

what do you think about the Pro Drive springs with the Cusco Sway Bars?...a more cost effective solution and the prodrives are essentially tuned eibachs which are great on the track from racing experience

More of a mild application. Will get you a decent drop, and the sways will provide enough roll stiffness without killing travel or anything else.

prodrives won't give you the dramatic drop you are looking for. However, I do have them on my ride and ordering the cusco sways soon...
Edit: BTW I am very happy w/prodrives

+2432...this is the best setup for you. Some people believe that because the RCE's have a stiffer spring rate than the pinks that they will lose ride quality. This is not true, read the numerous reviews on these forums, people experience very close to stock ride quality, if not better than stock. Plus the RCE's will lower the front another 4mm's over the pinks, plus they are cheaper, plus they are more readily available.

The RCEs are surely effective springs, but overkill for a street car, IMO.

While the RCE springs are valved for the stock struts, and that can be attributed to a better quality ride, increased springs, by definition will increase the NVH tramsitted throughout the car.

They are lower.

Cheaper is hardly applicable... a quick google search comes up with the pinks for ~$10 more than the RCEs from Gruppe-S, a fairly (well... very) large vendor.

If the OP is willing to compromise further to get more performance, then sure RCEs, they a competant spring. But if it is a daily driven car, I (personally) would go with Pinks all the way.

We have spent many many months on research and development for our springs. We designed these specifically for use with the stock struts. The majority of our customers have families (children and wives), that can comfortably sleep in the car and not know anything has changed. Including Myles' son who drove from DC to Atlanta and slept almost the whole way. We by no means are saying these are for everyone but we certainly feel that these are the best option for customers that want the most performance from their cars without their heads falling off!

Dear SMRacer30,

Before anyone can truly recommend a setup for your car we need to know a few things.

Is this a street car only? Maybe some autocross? How much? Roadracing? How much? I notice you're in California? Any canyon driving? How much? Also, please tell us what kind of street driver are you - grandma or "oh crap, I'm late for work"? Be honest here, I'm not gonna judge; just try to make the best suggestion possible.

How about future planned mods? Anything beyond just springs and sways?

Has anyone installed just the front hardened tophats and regretted not installing the rears? If the rears make a significant performance difference I might as well do both.

Also, is there still a "waiting list" for the RCE springs?

No more waiting list...we are receiving another large shipment this Friday and will finally be able to stock these.

what are you going to do with the car? until you know, keep it stock do you want the stiff almost race car ride (i mean real race car, not some honda bouncing on torched springs) or do you want low, plush, or do you want slammed and enough stiffer.

if you are racing/autoXing the car you DONT want to slam it, and you want as stiff as you car handle. if you are not racing or autoxing, then low and a "nicer" ride might work.

you can spend as little as a few hundred on suspension or tens of thousands. I'm on my 2nd set of springs, and might be on coilovers next, and have talked with just about everyone to make sure the suspension I have is doing what i need. I would read a little more about the springs and sways on the market.
