Default 2006 STi vs. 2006 WRX

I searched and came up with nothing so here goes.....

Will a 06 STi Strut assy bolt on a 06 WRX?

WHat are the differances between the 2006 STi and WRX suspension wise?

Lets say I had a 06 WRX and Struts and springs from an 06 STi...what would i need to change?

Thanks folks!

The struts from an '05-'07 STI will not fit any WRX and vise versa. The springs from an '04-'07 STI will fit WRX's from those same years.

Strut design is different on '05-'07 STI's. The springs are the same design (not the same type) as '04+ WRX's.

the hubs on the STIs after 2004 are different then all other wrx's, they have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern instead of 5x100. The 5x114.3 hub and knuckle have differently spaced lower strut mounting bolts hence the lower strut mount on the 05-07 STI will not bolt up to a WRXs smaller spacing on the knuckle. You would have to source an STi front end really to get it to work. I would guess it's possible but probably cost prohibitive especially since there is nothing special about the 05-07 struts. It would make more sense for a 05-07 STI owner to swap down to the 5x100 if they wanted more strut options but then they would have to deal with weaker wheel bearings.
