Default Strut Mounts Noisy?

Hey there guys. When I steer my car when the car isnt moving, or moving at a really low speed, there is a clunking associated with steering input on the drivers side.

I brought the car in for service and they said its due to the aftermarked strut mounts Ie. my camber plates. Is this bs? I told them to ensure there is enough lubrication on the whiteline steering rack bushings as well as lube the sway mounts and tighten the endlinks.

So, over time, will these make noise or what? its like a creaking/clunking that you can feel.

The pillowball mounts can be noisy. What camber plates do you have?

hotbits i believe.

Noisy in what way, im not talking about increased road noise. or vibration, im talking about when steering the wheel, even when stopped completely, there is a clunking or creaking when turning. Does this makes sense?

if this is a syndrome of plates, can you fix it without replacing the plates or struts?

I'm not sure, I've never had noisy camber plates / pillowball mounts before, I've only heard about them. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

I have PDE camber plates. I had the exact noise. Sounded like rubber against metal noise at the front passenger area. I jacked my car up and sprayed the top mount area with WD-40. Noise went away.

yeah, i just greased the pillowball sticking through the camber plate and that was forsure the noise, got a little better. When i have someone steer i can see it catching and letting go.
