I just drove a customer's car with all the mods,..STI pink springs,..STi trailing arms, lateral links,Cusco sway bars, and upper strut bars, and sti group-n upper strut bushings. We were trying to compare his old setup which were Teins with the adjustable dash mounted setup,.he likes this(sTI,Cusco,group-n)set up better, because it does what he wants to do depending on the application, track, autcocross, or street driving.

I was looking for feeback from people who have these variuos parts on their cars,..and what you like about the mods.............While I seel these parts, and my customers tell me good things, I would like additional feedback, as I am thinking of adding some other brands to my product lineup.

Thanks for your help .

myles- i am still putting things together on review, but my initial feedback on the praxis is it is awesome. I combined it with cusco sways and tower strut bars(both front and rear) , steering bushings and adjustable end links. Alignment in tour mode per factory, dampening set to sport by me. Wow- went thru back roads in south virginia farm country today at high speed- very impressed. Ran in sport mode and track and handling was phenomenal. Totally neutral with no body lean. Let my buddy drive- who had raced for 25 years- and from passenger seat even more impressive as he is a bit more aggressive than i- he thought the handling was phenomenal as well. And at end, set praxis back to tour mode and went comfortably home. His comment was the system in track or sport mode was as good as any coilover he had ever used, and he has experienced many. So far i am very happy with the investment- Ken

Very happy - except that ALL my suspension and busings and mounts are upgraded to "STi" now.

US/OEM: Was not very happy, and a little disappointed.

JDM/Group-N, coupled with loss of AC and adding of JDM bumper beam for less weight on the front end: Now THIS is a car!

I think that its a little lame that we're driving around in an STi thats not really "STi", and because of that, it consistently gets poorer reviews when compared to the Mitsu Evo. SOA thought that the softer springs would be the right choice for the US market, but didn't realize that the vast majority of people buying this car intend to push it like it was designed to - what its reputation said that it would. Unfortunately, this has had a negative effect on the publics' perception of the STi's performance - and the Evo is now touted as the "sharper" alternative to the STi.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the JDM Spec-C trounce the Evo?

Im saying that this car is awesome, but its just a little "detuned." Ah well....at least you have the option to get the "STi" suspension parts - on you own time and wallet.

There are more STi parts available than could ever be put on one car. Just because the USDM STi doesn't have all of them doesn't mean its not "really" an STi....

That may be, but the "Pink" springs should come STOCK, at the very least - as a base for this model. It should be from THIS platform that one should decide how or not to modify the vehicle.

I just installed the Eibachs, and I think they are a good choice for anybody wanting to improve the balance of the car without swaybars or the extra expense of the pink springs. I don't have the respective spring rates handy, but the Eibachs present the highest relative rate increase in the rear and go a long way toward eliminating understeer. Coupling that with a healthy dose of negative camber up front, and the car is much more apt to wag it's tail.

Body roll is also significantly reduced, along with dive and squat, and all without much impact on the ride or rough road tractability.

I suppose I would consider the Eibach springs to be a 'Stage-1' sort of package, offering a significant improvement over stock without stressing the bank account.

The Pinks, strut tops, and swaybars are probably best thought of as a Stage-2 type of package IMO. Better than just a set of springs alone, but starting to get into the territory nitpicking on handling charachteristics, i.e., an ameteur racer's starter setup only. In other words, they should get the car to a competitive level at autocrosses, but are probably overkill for anybody who is not a dedicated enthusiast.

Having had a coilover suspension before and custom struts, etc., I will just defer to their supreme excellence when it comes to track work. It starts to become a question of how fast you want to spend.

Are the Eibachs progessive rate springs or straight rate? and the same question about the pinks?

Full STI rear suspension here. For those that do not have the cash to go with the all the pretty pink parts. I recommend the springs, top hats, and sway bars for the biggest bang for the buck.

I'm wondering, what exactly is missing from our cars that isn't STi? Aside from the pinks and the strut tops, do the lateral links really make that much of a difference? Anything else?

I was very unhappy with my stock STi's suspension. Went with the progress coilovers which were specifically valved and adjusted after dyno testing the stock suspension, the car was then corner weighed and set-up perfectly. Paid $1400 set-up and got $600 off of my stock struts and springs... so I'm a happy camper

none short of a good guy. helped me when i pulled a stupid.

i love the new feel of my car its totally different. i cant wait to get the perrin psrs on. i have pinks, perrin rear sway, and cusco front and rear sturt bars, and with a good alignment i can say the fun factor was raised. a bit bumpier than stock but i love it. i still want coilovers so i can drop it some more, but i think im fine right now.

right tool for the right job saves money
