Default Whiteline Front Sways

OK, I know there are a lot of threads LIKE this one... but I'm really agonizing.

I am trying to decide between the 27-29 and the 24-26...

The overall plan: The above + 22mm adjustable rear... RCE springs... Group N tops, and ultimately Ohlins whenever my stock struts go. Totally stock suspension right now, and this will be executed in stages.

I just did my first auto-x this past weekend and really dug it... but this will be a daily driven car. I feel like I straddle the line between Clint's two categories in his dissertation on sways.

What I really want to know:
If you own or have owned the 24-26, do you wish you went bigger?
If you own or have owned the 27-29, do you regret going so big?

Thanks!

I LOVE my 27-29, I even have mine on the stiffer setting. That's what I would go with, along with a Whiteline 24mm adjustable rear. I have found that with the front set on stiff and the rear set in the middle my car is very neutral.

Are you on a top hat/camber plate, spring combo or full coilover. If you're on a coils, what are your spring rates?

Ohlins coilovers, spring rates are 7k front, 5k rear. I'm running -2.5 camber up front (camber plates) and -1.6 rear.

I just switched from hotchkis front and rear bars to wl 27 front and 24 rear. I wish I had gone with the whitelines to begin with(not that there is anything wrong with the hotchkis bars). Now I have to get the ohlins coilovers. I need to win the lottery.

I've got the WL 27-29 FSB and love it. Everyday driver, no loss in ride comfort, keeps the vehicle more planted, with exceptional turn-in. It's my weekend warrior too. Lapping day's and Auto-x and I'm able to still compete in the stock class.

I'm picking up a new set of Stance coilovers next week with my WL 24mm adjustable RSB.

i just put on my 27-29 FSB Tuesday and it is awesome. i upgraded from a COBB and the night I put it on I took a tight 270 degree exit at 60 when I couldn't do that before. Lots o fun.

Yeah man, Whiteline 27-29 is the way to go. I heard that the 29mm setting might be a little "darty(?)" for a daily driver, so set at 27 is what I've done.

You will NOT be disappointed!

27-29 FTW!

Some people seem to think it's too rough for daily driving, I don't think it is at all. I went to the Whiteline from a 22mm Cusco FSB and daily driving the difference wasn't really noticable at all. However during my first auto-x with the Whiteline bar installed I could REALLY notice the difference. The car handled MUCH better.

Default The other neutral way:

ender18d,
BoostJunkie, as you've read, likes the neutral feel of 29F and 24R. I too like the neutral feel of my Whiteline bars, but I'm set at 27F and 22R. For daily driving this is MORE THAN enough. Even at those settings, I get a lot of 'neutral 'sliding at the track, so I'll reserve the 29F and 24/26R settings for use with R-Compound tires.
Bottom line: The 27/29F and 22/24/26R Whiteline bars are an excellent choice, and their adjustability makes them workable in a variety of circumstances.

27mm is the one I'm running with the 24mm rear. I wouldn't change it for anything else.

I'm running 24mm F&R and I definitely do not need a thicker front swaybar. Very happy with this setup so far on my '06.

When using a super-big bar up front, I believe that a lot of people are blinded by the quicker turn-in rates rather than overall front grip. Further, what works well in autocross will not always work well enough on the street or a roadcourse.
