Default What do struts and sway bars do?

what do struts, and sway bars really, do i know they are stabilizers but what are they doing? and why would you need them....

Short answer:

The primary function of the shock is to dampen the oscillation of the springs after the wheel travels over bumps and dips.

The primary function of anti-roll bars is to reduce body roll by adding to the roll resistance of the springs.
