Good luck running the STI limited in Solo.... it has less than 1000 production number, so you have to run it in Street Modified class.

does this hold true even though it should fall on the same line as the normal STi?

there were only 500 or so of the sport Solstice sold (i think that's what they called it) and it was still in CS (won CS actually).

I don't mean to go off topic here... but wanted to point it out.

From what I was reading on my 2006 solo rulebook, if the production numbers for a model car are less than 1000, then it is not allowed in certain classes.

However, if the model is an option (such as buying the base corvette, and adding the z06 option), then it IS allowed.

The subaru STI Limited is a completely different model that was not considered an option to a base STI.

I am pretty sure SCCA would not grant the limited a distinct model status - heck, I would bet half the people running a solo event would not even think or know it was anything other than a normal STi. Not to mention, its not like a Limited would have any distinct advantage over a previous gen model

As far as I know the STI Ltd is placed in A Stock like the other STIs. The only differences in the cars are cosmetic [that includes lack of wing at AutoX speeds]. In fact, the extra sun/moon roof, heated leather seats and added sound deadener make it a touch slower than the regular STI.

I plan on getting coilovers this year and also looking at megan. Here's Scooby South last Sunday using Megans in BSP to take the fastest Suby run of the day....

Looks like Megans work pretty good to me for the price...

OP: it seems that german c/o's provide a softer, more compliant ride and japanese c/o's are very stiff for the most part. that should be your main factor in picking a c/o. the reason you're ditching your zeals will not be fixed by buying one of these setups because those noises are present in most setups.

two things to check: preload on your springs, and to make sure everything is tight--from the strut tops on down to the base of the c/o's.

take a look at your lower control arms in the front to see if they are level or pointing up kinda like this \_/ (you get the idea, not quite that severe). they should be level or pointing down just a little, and your sway bar should not be so close to anything that it will knock against the control arms or subframe.

you can also get rubber pads to quiet the springs.

if you really want to ditch your suspension for something quieter, just get a spring/strut/strut top setup and do away with the coilovers completely.
what is a rubber pad ?

I had HKS and now tein Expensive as hell , and they both sucked. Great for racing or autucross , but they make a ton of noise and the ride quality slowly degrades. It's softest becomes unbearable. A stock type with lowering springs is best. I switched to KYB's with swft springs. Much better and not killing my car.

Then you should have asked that instead of asking for feedback. Asking for feedback means you want to know how the handling, ride quality, etc is not if JIC is a good company.

Just an FYI learn to take some criticism without getting all but hurt over it, it will serve you much better here.
