I've got the WL ALK and already notice the power steering having "issues" when turning the wheel at idle.
I've got RCE springs and get rubbing on the wheel well when turning the wheel say 50% and braking at the same time at slow speeds, or turning the wheel and going over bumps at slow speeds.

I don't think I would want to add more caster.
didn't see this until now. Tom Hoppe has played quite a bit with caster. 7* is the most you want to run, and even that's getting close to the edge. higher than that and the weight jacking starts to get screwy.

Nope. Everything's still good. I recently checked this for a noise I was getting that was driving me batty. Took the front end apart 3 times in as many days. Turned out to be a ball joint had died without the traditional signs of death.

seems like an easy task to accomplish.

do you think i could simply back the two bolts out, rotate the "stud" and then re-bolt without any other disassembly?

That's what I did. I used a friend to help move things around to line it up though. I also used a bit of locktite on the threads, because I'm a dork like that.

Clint,
No locktite where logical = dork
Locktite where logical = no dork
2 years ago I put 2 washers for each bolt between bushing stud and controlarm, with locktite, and got enough movement to move toe in 1/8".
I check these bolts ( and most suspension bolts) at every 3,000 mile oil change. Have had O issues.
I'll take a good look at the bushing studs when I install the TIC coilovers and Vorshlag camber plates I will be receiving soon ( I can hardly wait ).
If I can get similar movement from rotating bushing stud 180 degrees, I'll remove my washers.

I'm running 6.8 degrees of castor. I wouldn't go higher, but this amount seems to work.

Noltec race plates

They're nice, but they're thick and eat up a lot of travel space.

Stretch,
I recall recently you mentioned a camber/castor tool from Sears you were going to try. How did it work, and what is the name and price of it?
Thanks,
Steve

Oh yeah, the steering wheel has a very nice weight to it now. It also seems like steering feel and on center feel has greatly improved as well. Turn in response is sharp as a knife.

I can't make any specific comments as to exactly what effect it's had on performance based on observations behind the wheel, because the big caster number came with a lot of other suspension upgrades all at the same time. I could adjust it out and test it, but that's quite a bit of work.

I don't think I would go any higher than that though. The weight jacking effect is really obvious on a tight autocross course where sometimes the inside rear tire doesn't sit down fast enough. Usually smooth driving inputs are enough to deal with it though. On the street or track, the big caster number really seems to be completely vice free.

Would someone post a picture of the area that this modification applies to? I'd like to check it out but have no idea what to look for. Thanks!

the rear mount of the control arm.

if that doesn't make any sense to you, it may be prudent to have someone experienced help you with the mod, for safety's sake.
