IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 Trader Rating: (3) | Let me preface this question by saying my car is a daily driver that only sees the occasional hard canyon run. I plan to one day track/auto-x it, but 98% of its duty is as a daily. I want JDM pinks (mainly because the spring rates properly match the stock struts), but I don't care to drop my car 20mm. It goes offroad sometimes, there's tons of places to scrape and bottom out where I live, and my exhaust hangs low enough as it is. I've noticed Crucial Racing's springs offer the same exact spring rate (257/217) as the Pinks and only drop it 12.5mm front / 9mm rear (compared to the Pinks' 20mm front and rear). There seems to be some hatred on this board for progressive rate springs, but are the Crucial springs a viable alternative to the JDM Pinks? Less drop, lower price, and same spring rate/performance? IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 Trader Rating: (3) | I've looked into the Prodrives, but the Pinks and their spring rate seem to be the most proven balance between comfort and sport on the stock struts. Just want to see if the Crucials are a good alternative. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | cool..i wouldnt know the spring rates, i had the prodrives in my car and tracked it often, close friend of mine with an 04 however had pinks and we had similar suspension mods except his never went to stg2. And they both performed pretty much the same in real world when it came to handling . Some of our mods included extensive bracing, alk's, rca kit, adjustable arb's, endlinks (obviously) several bushings. We always ran stock tires for a while when everyone would get rid of their re070's for like 300 bucks and then switched to re01-r's and never looked back since Just some real world experience FWIW I have ridden in that car many times with those springs, currently he is on RCE blacks with Ohlins FPS and I am on PSS9's |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I actually have the crucial racing springs.. I love them.. A few of my friends with the pinks actually like these more then their pinks.. The drop is perfect it lowers it down without making you worry about scraping everywhere you go.. |

| dances with roads | Prodrives or RCE Blacks have been the going choice for those who do not want to lose ground clearance. Both have a well-deserved reputation for performing well. I haven't seen much on the Crucial springs here. |

Yet at the same time, they are daily driver springs, not track springs (though that sounds like what your looking for). For your application, it sounds like they'd be a great fit.
