Talking Installed Ohlins with RCE Blacks (pics)

This is on my 2004 STi, these were installed about a month ago. Also has my new 235/45 RE-01R tires installed. I think it looks pretty good (in a stock kinda way) and the handling is so much improved over OEM, plus it even rides better to boot. Maybe this helps someone decide on blacks vs yellows.

I'm running Ohlins FPS with RCE blacks as well. I love the setup. The only thing I'd recommend adding to them (as far as the strut/spring aspect of the suspension) would be the RCE lowering front camber plates. They really improve the stance of the car, and as with any camber plate, turn-in is improved due to the zero compliance.

I installed Swifts on my Ohlins and the drops about the same. Did you ever measure wheel center to fender distance? If you haven't please do and I'll do the same on mine, curious to see which has slightly more drop.

nice looking car man...the stance is great too. If you are going to track the car with RE01-R's (very good tire) then run 36F/34R. I have the same tire/size. Keep the hot tire pressures about 41F/40R . The hot pressures will vary with track temps, and all but 36/34 will be good. any more than 40 on the rear I found was too greasy and infact some BStone techs say running them 34ish hot I havent tried that low pressure but I love the handling at 40psi so why mess with it eh!!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

LuVJuGGs,
I am still messing with the tire pressures on the RE-01R's, I will have to try those out. thanks for the info.

Draco-REX,
Your car looks real nice. I like that stance even more than mine, and had thought about camber plates. Maybe my next mod.

Yeah... I know it looks bad. I have the lip off my car right now. I need to sand and repaint it, then mount it better. It's a cheap knockoff, so fitment is so-so. I'm having the car detailed now, so I'm going to try and get the lip done and on the car for some photos tomorrow.

thats funny. I never really care about the look or stance.....................who cares how the blacks/ohlins look...........

because whats important is how they feel. This is like the best setup possible for the roads I like.
