Default 05+ owners; How long do your wheel bearings last?

I am thinking about doing a hub swap for my 04 and I was wondering how long I can expect my 05+ bearings to last. I am specifically interested to hear from owners who track their cars. I tracked my 04 with Advan A046's and I needed to replace 2 corners after 3 track days.

I have an 06 with 22k miles. I'm through 5 track days, so not a whole lot, but they're just fine so far. From what I understand, the hub swap is worthwhile. Bump for someone with more experience than I.

40K Miles on the car mostly extreme "canyon" runs and multiple track days 3 yr old car bearings are still going strong and my front brakes hit 600F on a 8 hr track shift

Edit: I am swapping the front bearings for new ones just for the heck of it because I abuse the daylights out of the car and on the weekend I took my spindles off and the bearings looked good just dont like being stuck so I will be doing them, they are cheap enough 125/corner

Lies...ALL LIES!!!!!

Really though, that's amazing for 04 bearings. I think we replaced ours 4 times by 50000 miles.

Do you need to get the 6 gun conversion kit to do the hub swap? Also, how do you know that your bearings are going bad. Is pad knockback a symptom of bearings going bad?

When mine went bad I heard a loud humming noise when i was moving and it got worse each day. And pad knockback became much more pronounced.

'05 STi w/ approximately 11,500 miles and my wheel bearings are fine.

Car has approximately 21 track days with two drivers on 6 of those days. So that's roughly equivalent to 27 track days.

Remainder of mileage is probably 50/50 in-town and highway usage.

Root cause of low miles on my '05 is that I have too many cars. Just ask my wife!

One car was driven 253 miles in 18 months. Another was driven less than that.

So I recently got rid of my dependable daily driver/winter beater to force myself to drive the "nice" cars more often.

One other factor making the mileage seem low on the '05 STi is that it was purchased new in May of 2006 as it had been sitting in a rural dealer's showroom for a year. So in effect the car is just a little over two years old.

Gary

I think my bearings in the rear might be starting to make some noise after 40k miles with no track time and stock suspension.

I hope the warranty can cover this.
