IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (3) | I am a noob to suspension. I searched around and I didn't exactly find what i wanted to know. I want to get springs that will the drop the car. I don't know exactly how much but maybe you guys know a good drop size. 1.5in or 2in?? Also which are the best springs to get? How much should I drop the car? I want the drop to be like this picture below. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...3/DSCN8362.jpg This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

Which springs would good me the drop, the first yellow set of springs? Would the picture below look like the drop from these yellow RCE springs? http://i4.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/ef/90/5782_1.JPG

The RCE springs to be a very good product, but the topic has been discussed a lot so try a search and you'll find more info. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | you can't go wrong with RCE springs...no matter which you choose, the black or the yellows, I don't think you need to worry about the "form over funtionality" with either spring... Its more of a personal preference as to how low you want your car to sit. |

Seriously. There isn't much suspension travel to play with.

| Shamwow Vince is my hero | I'd keep your stock springs and get RCE lowering camber plates up front and group-n rear tophats. Add in a set of eccentric (camber) bolts out back and soem sway bars and you've got a decent setup for not too much cash. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Even yellows will not be as low as the picture you linked... The rear will be a little higher and the front will be quit a bit higher.. Still a lot lower than prodrives/pinks, but there's still a gap there... If I could do it all over again, I would save up for coilovers.. and do it right the 1st time. |

| dances with roads | Since the word "drop" is in your subject line I'm going to assume that it matters to you that the car has a certain look. Here's the problem with taking that approach to an STi: the car is already lowered from the factory. STi's are an inch lower than your garden variety Impreza. Lower them much more and you quickly get into the range of stuff like bottomed-out struts and camber limitations. If you want slammed, it's out there. Just don't expect the car to be truly driveable. If you want performance, put away your ideas about looks and take the (ample) advice you'll find here. I run Prodrives and heartily recommend them -- not for the stance they give the car, but because of what they do for the ride and handling. From everything I've read RCE Blacks appear to be their close cousins. Both are great for those of us who want to beef up the handling without sacrificing much in the way of ride height.
