Default adjusting camber on stock STi

I have a stock 07 STi. Judging by my tire wear I have a little positive camber on the front wheels. I've read that the best set up for a stock STi is to maximize the negative camber in the front. If I'm not worried about toe or caster and I just want to maximize my negative camber can I just adjust it myself without an alignment rack? I know it is probably a good idea to match the numbers left to right, but for now I'd like to just do it myself and at least have it better than it is now. Also, how would I do this? Does anybody have a pic of the bolts I need to turn? Thanks

Unfortunately, as you adjsut camber, you are also changing your toe. And the wear as you describe it may be because of bad toe adjustment. I would recommend getting the whole alignment done at a shop with a machine.

You want 0 toe all around and you want maximum negative camber in the front (rear camber is not adjustable.) The guy at the shop may second-guess your 0 toe request. Just insist on it; you know your car better than they do. Ideally, see if you can talk to any of the local SCCA miata guys and get a recommendation on which shop to go to. A good alignment shop will have a tech with great attention to detail.

I understand maxing the camber out, but why zero toe? Wouldn't a little toe be good? Is this what most people are running? I'm trying to get the best set up I can on stock parts for daily driving and occasional auto crossing. My first suspension mod will be a whiteline rear sway bar, but I won't be getting that for a while.

Toe eats tires. On a car with any daily driving I would not do any toe. The above poster is right about maxxing negative front camber and leaving 0 toe around. Rear camber is not adjustable without bolts or plates.

This would be max negative for the left front.

There is a "10" inscribed on the top of the camber bolt, basically that should be pointed at the strut to get max neg. camber. So the center mark would be perpendicular to the strut. I believe going negative on the camber will give you toe-out, which would be a plus for autocross, but probably not worth the tire wear. You still really need to get an alignment, especially if the car has never had one, they tend to come completely out of whack from the factory.
