Default coilover help

Hey everybody. My car is an 04 sti with about 35k on the clock. I've got a slight problem with my coilolvers and was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have been driving my car for about 3k on coilovers. Over that time I have occasionally heard this metal on metal noise coming from the front shock tower area. I checked everything under the hood and in that area as far as brakes and suspension and everything seemed tight. I looked at the spherical bearing where the top of the shock sits inside the camber plate and it had some dirt and light rust on it. I cleaned it out and put some grease in there to see if that solved the problem. The noise seemed to go away but than it came back. I checked the pre-load on the spring to see if maybe it was too loose but it was fine. I only hear the noise when i go over some slightly larger bumps and when i pull out of my driveway. I know camber plates will result in a lot more NVH than say stock or group N mounts but this just does not sound right and I only hear it on the one side. No leaking fluid or anything like that. My car is not slammed I have about 14.25 wheel center to fender rim in the front and about 13.5 in the rear. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.
