weird feeling when turning hard?...

I have an 07 sti and when I turn hard it almost feels like my front tire is not rolling but being pushed in way, and it makes a weird noise...It only really happens when I am moving slowly (parking lots, pulling out of spaces/garage). There are some similar threads on here but they did not sound like the exact same issue as mine so I figured I would just ask specifically for me...any help would be great...

it happens to mine to when the wheel is turned all the way to one side. its normal. i dont have technical info but i read some where that it has some thing to do with your diff

well the reason I asked is because my friend has an 07 and his doesn't do it so I dunno

My 07 does this also. I started a thread a whlie back when i first got it. My buddy just got his 07 last month and his does this as well. seems to be common for the 07's. add it to the list of cons for 2007 sti's.

Is the STI the first car you've owned with a Limited Slip Differential? (3 actually) Normally, the tire inside a turn turns much less than the outside tire when turning tightly. However, an LSD will try to limit the difference, which means the inside tire will attempt to spin faster. This makes a scraping sound if you're on a sandy or slippery surface.

Most cars that have a LSD only have one, but the STI has 3! In a tight corner EVERY wheel is turning a different rate and the LSDs want them all to be the same. So tight turns in the STI can be rather noisy as the LSDs fight for control of the wheels.

If you set your DCCD to manual and as far open as it will go (the bottom green light) it will help quite a bit.

i totally forgot about the dccd setting. i read it a while ago and its better on full open. i jsut keep it on auto all the time and never change it and its not that bad.

wow can't believe nobody has mentioned this tip yet...

anyway when you guys are pulling in and out of tight spots, doing u-turns, or any slow speed tight corner, you should be lifting up on your e-brake slightly. Pull up to one click or less and it will open your diffs allowing your wheels to spin freely and not bind.

for what years ? of course i don't have this issue .
