Default Slammed/tucked Subies...good or not?

EDIT: This is the bickering section of a pictures thread. Post, don't post, I don't care but discuss it in this forum, not the photography forum.

I just don't think that slammed wrx's look good, it totally throws the whole car off IMO. Im lowered with JDM Pinks (20mm) and I think that its still throws the whole looks off and Im going back to stock.

as my own personal preference & opinion, yes, any slammed car looks retarded. and as my own personal preference, anyone who does this for anything other than looks is retarded too.

and I don't care what NASIOC has to say about any of this. there is absolutely no need to link to them for anything because this isn't the "if NASIOC said it was true, then it must be true" forum.

my rant is over...

lol obviously not why i linked but ok be oblivious to the performance advantages to a
"slammed" car, because obviously time attack and circuit cars aren't low.

my rant is over.

There aren't any "performance" advantages to a slammed car. dropped to a certain degree, yes, but slammed, no. read the suspension forum if you don't believe me.

actually, when people join a car forum, they're looking for suggestions, reviews and assistance when it comes to what they want to do to their cars. Others with knowledge are here to help those seeking information. we post, we comment, we conclude...that's what a forum is designed for.

if you think we're "bashing" on one-another, you've got a lot to learn.

I agree. Not to mention it completely destroys the suspension geometry and make the car ride/handle like crap. Why do that to a performance car? The only reason I can think is rice.

I hope you're not referring to my comment. I assure you that lowering your car is not beneficial from any standpoint, save a lower Cg.

yeah i mean, my car handling 100% better than it did stock, cornering with absolutely no
body roll and outhandling nearly everything i come into contact with must mean that
lowering a car has no effect or negatively effects performance.

I can't believe people are even arguing this it makes no sense! The best handling cars
are lowered if not slammed from the factory! Gimme a break!

Edit: Just so we are all clear, I'm not talking about slapping some lowering springs on the car
and calling it a day. That, I agree, has no performance benefit.

You have a lot of learning to do. Go read some more in the suspension forum. Read a few books on how to make your car handle better. Then come back and try and support your comments.

Just because it "feels" better doesn't mean anything.

Also, new springs are probably much stiffer, which is why you feel less body roll. But they also put you too close to the bump stops, which causes other problems. By "slamming" you car you have effectively destroyed your camber curve and migrated your roll center out of design specs.

Just noticed you have COs. They are DESIGNED to work at a lower ride height, so that removes some of the problems with lowering. However, any problem that does nto stem fro the FPSs, is still around.

The "best handling cars that come slammed from the factory" and built with a specific suspension geometry in mind. Being low has little to do with their ability to turn.

how can you say it "feeling" better doesn't mean anything? Lol isn't that the whole
point of performance? to make the car feel and perform better?

Why do anything performance-minded if it's not going to make the car "feel" any better?

Believe me, I don't claim to be an expert on suspension, but to say that lowering a car
has no performance gains is outlandish.

Once again, I'm not talking about just slamming a car, I'm talking about having all of the
supporting mods, such as sway bars, endlinks, strut tower braces, coilovers, corner
weighting and balancing, proper camber settings, etc.
