Default For The Suspension Guru's

OK, so I'm about to pull the trigger on my entire suspension setup and I know when choosing sway bar diameter, spring rate also comes into play. This is what I'm looking at:

The car is a street car (not a full DD since I work very close to work and bike it) that is used to weekend twisty fun and will be used for a few track days every couple of months in the future (not auto-x or drag). I can get a killer deal on the Cusco 22mm front and 22mm-24mm adj. rear sways so I was going to go with those.

Now, here's my dilemma; I will also be purchasing coilovers and haven't decided to go with a 8k/6k or a 7k/5k spring rate. I was thinking more 7k/5k since it will not be a true track car. Would those sways be a good match for these (either) spring rates, or am I totally off base?

Oh, and since I have your attention, someone told me I only need to upgrade the rear endlinks as the fronts should be fine for my purposes. True?

Thanks for any help and advice.

What COs are you looking at?

I'd go with the 7k/5k rates and a 27-29mm WL front bar with the 22-24mm cusco rear bar. At least get rear endlinks.

Ha, on one side of the spectrum, Stance coilovers. And on the other side KW V3. I like the progressive rates of the KW for around town, but I like the linear of the Stance from a performance standpoint. Not sure which I'm going with yet.

I'll look into that Whiteline bar, will something that stiff up front make the car 'squirrelly'? This will also be coupled with a ALK, Carbing or GT Spec subframe.

I don't mind getting front endlinks as well, I already have Perrin rears, so getting the fronts isn't going to hurt me if I really need them.

It will have a small effect when going over uneven roads, but I think it will have a greater effect in keeping weight better distributed during a turn.

FWIW- this is what I plan on doing, hence my suggestion. I am no where near a guru, just learning.

I suggest adjustable endlinks all the way around so that you can take the preload out of the swaybar when you do your corner weight.

I'd go with the TiC coilovers for a daily driver that wants to get aggressive in the "twiSTies".

22mm Cusco sways will be good for a street car. They use rubber bushings which are maintenance free. If you want something more aggressive (if you anticipate more track use), the Whiteline 24mm bars certainly are- each 2mm is quite a large bump in stiffness. You'll probably be very happy with either set.

As others have said, I'd recommend the TiC coilovers. (Of the two you mentioned, KW.) Please don't choose Stance just because they come with linear springs; for your purposes that's about as unimportant as color.
