Oh, and that was on a STOCK SUSPENSION!!!

Just ordered coilovers...i'm done with stock struts.

Jesse
Well the clunk doesn't necessarily mean they're blown....just annoying.

Not to mention that with all the suspensions I was trying from 03-07 the car was off theground ALOT. Simply put,.....some people with slight clunking have noticed if they put a hydraulic jack under the car over night in the rear end....that for a day or so the clunking goes away !! So who knows. Yeah some have clunking at 5k on new cars. One thing is for certain...the 08's wont have this issue !!

Jealous of the 08's, and sounds like moving the grease around probably would help. I hate the stock struts anyways, so it was just an excuse to move on

Well, as far as fixed perch, no - they're your only option. BUT there ARE other options out there! For example: you could go with koni inserts in wrx housings / ground control housings for the front! These are basically the same as a fixed perch option such as the ohlins, as you can keep your stock springs, but they also allow future adjustability since you can use them with 2.5" coilover springs and run them as a height adjustable setup (basically a full custom coilover).

I'm about to install just that - koni inserts, GC housings in the front, 350/300 springs, GC front camber plates.

There's a whole thread about it started by Stretch - great read, ESPECIALLY if your considering upgrading your stock struts.

I know But is DOES mean i have an excuse to upgrade

And it is VERY annoying, especially for someone who does a lot of their driving around town.
