I want to run an aggressive lowering stance without using coilovers.

Right now im on cobb springs. When i upgrade my wheels to the 18X9s its going to raise the car and also require me running camber to fit. So what im planning on doing is using the LCPs to lower the car again as well as provide the camber i need to fit the wheels in the front..

For the rear im running camber bolts (i think) and doin some cuttin.

If you use Ground Control sleeves and springs, then you can run Ground Control's camber plates, too. They'll give you a full inch more travel, much more than RCE's 3/8 inch. The downside is that they only work with coilovers, so you have to run Ground Control's springs (which are coilover springs with new spring perches).

This may be the only way to properly get an aggressive stance without using coilovers.

Bigger rims shouldn't raise your car at all. It depends on what tires you're wrapping around them. If you go with a 255/35-18 you'll have the same diameter as the stock tires so there won't be any increase in ride height.

I plan to go with a 235 tire not sure if i should do a 35 or 40 for sidewall height... Im not going with a huge tire dont want to run a TON of camber and eat up tires... im driving the car daily these days.

Yeah so far i think im stick with the RCE plates and see what happens.

There's a really nice tire size calculator on the miata boards. it'll let you plug in your stock size, and then the new size to show you diameter difference from one to the other.

I'd go with the 235/40-18. You'll gain about 5mm of ride height, but you'll also be closing 5mm of wheel gap. If you go with a 235/35-18 your speedo will be off even more than it already is, not to mention that's a really small sidewall.

I'd run it by Teh_Clap, but I think you should be able to run a 245/35-18 without any issues (depending on your offset). That will be much closer to your stock diameter than either of the 235s. Besides, a 235 on a 9" rim is pretty stretched. A 225 on an 8" rim is already starting to stretch, going up just 10mm on tire width and adding 25mm of rim width will stretch it even more. A 245 on a 9" rim should still be convex, but not overly stretched.

I ran a 245/35-18 on a 8.5 with no problems.

see my thread here. 265's on 18"x9"s with no mods! pick a nice high offset and you wont have to worry about cutting and adding mad camber. i have not been able to get mine to rub.
