Got the rear bar on today. HUGE difference so far. Got rid of much of the body roll left in the car which makes it feel more confidence inspiring during cornering. The bar is a 25mm hollow unit that is two positiin adjustable. I have it on the softer setup currently. The rear is definitely lighter when lifting off throttle which makes the heavy car feel much more lively. I have been spending much time getting our Miata ready for the track day this coming Monday and in the process have spent a few hours driving it around. I forgot how much fun a small, light car can be even with little power. It's just so manuverable. The rear bar definitely helps the car feel more nimble, but it still feels heavy.

I also got the time to bed in the Pagid pads I got from Myles. I thought I was getting the Yellow's, but instead on the new RS5's(I could have ordered the RS5's and not remember.....been a bit nuts lately). All I can say is WOW!!! They have some serious bite to them. I am actually a little worried that the 265 RE01R's may not be enough tire for them come Monday, but we'll see.

Those 265's will be fine. You will be able to modulate the Pagids very well. Soon I will have a brake duct to help get some air to those rotors for you. I know I have been saying that, I just need to get off my ass and finish them.

Yeah we went around and around about yellows or New Blues and you said new Blues. The RS5 is a strong pad. Not something a newb should even think of using. A person has to be at the point where they use 90% of the brakes on track days and KNOW that they have 11% left in them for actual racing. I get in cars with guys who claim to be fast and they go down to 250ft mark and brake and think they have used all the brakes !! I take em at lunch time and they are crying like George Jetson..."Jane get me off this crazy thing..".

TOny will be fine.

ENjoy !!

Myles

Laugh at last line....

I definitely still have more to learn about driving in general, but always thing there is more improvement to be had. Whenever I think I have mastered a technique, I find a new intricacy to the technique that allows me to keep practicing. I think that's what I love about driving....there's always a skill I can improve no matter how much I have practiced it.

I noticed the ease of modulation when I was out bedding them yesterday. They had good bite and were very communicative of where the limits of the tires were. I can't wait to get out there.

When you say "were very communicative of where the limits of the tires were" what do you mean exactly? Isn't the limit your ABS or do you not go into ABS activation? I have noticed that towards the end of the session I sometimes can't get the ABS to kick in at the end of the straight aways and my braking distance certainly increases. I uped my pads this year too as well as rotors so I am hoping that will help a bit.

Another question, do you guys shave your tires when you hittin' up the track? I always hate having a track day with brand new tires because it is so much worst and they grease up too quickly.
