My service manual says I should replace my strut nuts after removing!

My 07' service manual states that the self-locking strut nuts, strut shaft nuts and tophat nuts need to be replaced after disassembling. I'm going to be replacing my springs soon and everyone I talk to says that the old nuts are fine to use. Whats up with this?

they are fine. The warning is for lawyers and to sell more nuts...

I haven't replaced them, and I have swapped out springs twice.

This may be the reason im taking them in to Subaru to be replaced too!

Eh, if you can get some new ones easy... get some new ones. They can't cost much.

If you're in a pinch or have to order some, I'm sure you can reuse them.

Its not required unless you eff the original bolts up.
