Default suspension product questions

So, I'm new to tuning STis, and to extreme tuning. I've done some messing around with my Corvette, but it's just not the same. I'd like to turn my STi into a nice daily driver/serious weekend track car, and I need some ideas. I've been looking at the Cusco Zero-2e coilovers, since they seem to provide a nice balance between drivability and performance, and a set of Cusco sway bars (21mm front, 22mm rear). What I've never gotten into is minor suspension components. Subaru Tecnica International has upgraded lateral links and trailing links available. How big a difference in performance will installing these make in addition to the Cusco coilovers/sway bars? I want a balanced suspension, and one that does not have terrible driving comfort. Any advice?

My advice to you would be to find someone near you who you candrive their car with maybe lowering springs first. You may not need coilovrs. If you decide to do those bars do the 22/22mm set ..NOT the 21 front. If you want to actually feel a noticable difference..then do the WHiteline 24mm bars front and rear. Bottom line is go back 10 pages and read forward, that will answer many of your questions. Overall, you will need to find others near you for actual comparisons. Call us and I can find someone in ND who has some suspension mods who can prob gt you a ride.

Do a search in this section. YOU are no different than the hundreds of other people that come on here asking the SAME questions. Not trying to be an a$$ but it does get tiring seeing the same qustions asked over and over and over. Search the stickys, go back several pages in the suspension section and start reading.

Since I woke up this AM without getting any, I guess I've got my panties in a wad!

What is your budget?

Is this more of a daily driver or more of a fun car?

Are you going to autox or road race?

polyol,

I'm not really on a budget, I hope. The car is gonna be a daily driver, but something I can still tear up the track with on the weekends. It will probably be road racing...I've never tried my hand at autox, but I might give it a shot. I'm just curious if the lateral and trailing links will sacrifice a lot of ride comfort if they're installed on top of the coilovers and sway bars.

I've also considered ZeroSports Winning S coilovers and 26mm sway bars, if anyone has any opinions on those vs the Cuscos. It'd be about a grand cheaper.

I'll do some reading on the forums, but I'd also appreciate whatever advice is available.

You'll want to pass on both of those. Here's a list of what to look into...

RCE T2's
Ohlins
KW V3's
TIC's SST's

Any of these coupled with Whiteline sways and a set of Kartboy endlinks. Add in a Carlabs X-Brace and your set. Dont worry about trailing links and whatnot.
