I would suggest RCE Tarmac 2 Coilovers. I don't have experience with Stance, but I think the Tarmacs is really endorsed by all those who have it!

FWIW, I have pointedly asked one of the guys who works for Stance for the technical ins and outs of their setups over on nasioc. We'll see if he comes through at which point people will be able to tell you if they look promising.

I was kind of looking into getting the Stance coilovers soon, but I noticed that it says nothing about a 04 STI under applications...only 05.. They have:
GDB/STI 05+
GDB/WRX 02-04

should the GDB/WRX 02-04 also fit the 04 STI?

I thought a shock dyno of the Stance's was posted on Nasioc somewhere, and it had no bump but lots of rebound- way more than the typical 1:2 ratio. That might work for a ride quality setup (not a track car- you'll get an undesirable jacking down effect) so long as the amount of damping is right, but only if you have TONS of bump travel. The Stance coilovers clearly do not and probably should have more bump resistance. This type of valving is pretty similar to some other cheap coilover dynos I've seen.

Couple subie owners is the bay area are sporting them and use them for auto-x and they say its pretty aggresive and i believe its inverted monotube. They all say they love it from the first time to put it on and 2 + years after are still functioning properly. But I cant say anything since Im not using Stance coilovers. Im riding on do-luck.
