the Blacks are a drop spring as well and are stiffer than the stock spring I believe. these two factors could assist in early strut problems but others can verify that.

IMO, you don't "need" the ohlins but they're good struts from what I hear. and i thought I read somewhere that you could use the bilstein struts with other springs as long as you purchase the proper strut for your application.
