You know, yesterday I took a minute to figure out what the "bobble head" was since I see it so often on this forum. It is then when I realized that "subliminaly" I always tense up my neck as soon as I get into my car. As soon as I relaxed it, and the rest of my body, all I could think about is hawaiin music and the little hulla girl bobblehead. Dang, this stuff is no joke.

Its a HUGE part of the feel of our cars. It amazes me sometimes.

Just use zip ties. Easier to do and undo.

For once, I can't talk about bump stops Myles, haha.

i will do this soon, i will zip tie the springs to the bars below it like sidewayssteve. this has to be FTW. especially being 6'5''. ill gain a tad of head room. lower with better side support. and i only weight 165. i am sitting ontop of it. When i drive like a deek, i just slide around. lol. i wont really know how it is until spring(ish) because i am most likely going to be in active duty with the Air Force.
Thanks for the great ideas!!

This is great info. I'm going to try one of these solutions soon. I'm tired of being in mid air half the time I'm going somewhere.

just a quick question... if there really is an issue with just the seats & springs that they sit on... how come the ride is still bouncy if you are sitting on the back seat of the car???

Anyone around here who does do this maybe you could stop by and let me feel how the reworked seat is.

I've had an idea bouncing around in my head for a while. Some book I read - don't remember which one - mentioned using memory foam for the seat foam. Basically, that stuff that the swedish mattresses they sell in the mall is made of.

I've been searching a few places such as homebuilt airplane suppliers, but the stuff isn't really in the size I want. If anyone knows of a good source, and if we have someone who's good at car interiors (maybe one in the same guy) I would think this would help since it's a self damping material.

Clint/Tony you just made me think of a friend's parents who bought one of those beds and the cat pisses on like on part and they might be chucking it( his mom didnt like it anyway)...so I will make that call this weekend and see what they are going to do. Maybe I get the non-pissed on side and cut it up and send to who ever wants to do the actual deal.

I can see it now..." yeah theses seats are awesome..but where is the cat?.."

You guys could always try mattress companies themselves. I know there is a fair amount of scrap that is a byproduct of manufacture.

I used to work in the furniture industry and the people at Simmons always seemed nice. They even hooked me up with a mattress under cost...it has a few inches of the memory foam in it. customerassistance@simmons.com or 1-877-399-9397 if you feel like you are convincing enough.
