Default Cobb Sway Bars?? Anyone have them? Whats the difference?

I just bought Cobb sway bars. What setup is the best for the rear. Im using it for Auto x and spirited driving. How do they feel?

I had the Hotchkis bars which are basically the same...I ran them on full stiff 100% of the time with no issue. Im now on the Whiteline solid stuff which is also bigger and still have it on full stiff in the rear.

It will depend on other suspension settings.

Best thing to do is to try the settings for yourself and see how the car reacts

Yeah, what other mods do you have? What is your alignment right now?

Most guys will either run them full soft, or on the middle setting for the street - I've tried it at full stiff and on anything but plate-smooth roads it upsets the chassis by making the rear end really nervous.

like others have said, it depends on your suspension setup.

at the track i was at full firm and that was too much, making me too tail happy. i run it in the middle right now on the street.

I run mine in the middle for both street and track. It's enough for my car to kick the tail end out but not be crazy tail happy. I think I remember reading that Cobb recomends to only run full stiff if you are on R-comp tires.

I ran the full stiff mode this year at the track with Hoosier R6 and it makes the rear end very mobile, I was chassing the back end all day. I would not recommmend this for street driving. But it is great on the track

I held some Cobb bars and was impressed with the weight. But for super duty I prefer the Whiteline solids. IMO.

Im debating between the cobbs and wl.
Ive noticed w/ the wls that after awhile they start to rust. I havent seen that w/ the cobbs

Another plus w/ the cobb bars is the upgraded rear mounts, which doesnt come w/ the wls

I don't think I've ever seen the upgraded 04+ Subaru swaybar mounts break. Anyone seen it happen?

But really, the price is good on the Cobb bars and you don't really pay too much for their standard mounts.

I think the biggest deciding factor is how much sway do you want? The COBBs are hollow, so they are less stiff per diameter than a solid WL bar. With stiffer springs, less bar is necessary (as a generalization). The opposite is true (again, a generalization).

Ive just seen rust on alot of the w/l bars. Wouldnt that effect the rigidity of the bar and make it more prove to possible failure?

Surface rust will have very little effect on structural rigidity.
