IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | Great day, fantastic event but a little cold. It was 24degrees in the wee hours of the morning and slowly crept up to the low 40s. I kept the stock tires on so I could compare runs with earlier events. Video links... Edited Run 2...crazy recovery at 3:20 after a late pass of an AudiTT... YouTube - Limerock - 11.08.07 - BlueRun2 Edited Run 3...some fun with some PCars... YouTube - Limerock STI - Run 3 Passive, for the APC fans.... YouTube - Limerock-Passive And for the Spartans... YouTube - Limerock-MolonLave Results from PBox... ![]() Two runs from yesterday... Run Blue from earlier in the morning, high 30degs, was a 1:04.2 Run Red from 2nd session, temps just barely in the 40s, was a 1:03.5 Another graph with a later start/finish point (end of straight) and speed x time... ![]() Stock tires were used, and after a half-dozen track days and in pretty cold weather, I'm surprised I was able to do a 1:03...and I was driving the wheels ff the car to do it. Sliding and drifts and all kinds of drama to coax a good time...the tires are really shot to dirt...I can't wait to mount up the r-comps next year. From my video and logs from March, my fastest time was a 1:06.6, a pretty drastic change of times...3 seconds. Just so happens that the suspension at that time had very little done to it...just front and rear sways. There is one patched section right after turn-in at the bottom of the hill, leading onto the straight, that has a few bumps and if your car is not set-up properly they will cause an issue...keeping you off line or skipping or not getting on the gas early for the straight. I was really looking for evidence that the 600/500 set-up is too stiff, and certainly thought that this section would show it, but I was very wrong. The T2s sucked up the bumps as if they didn't even exist, I stayed on line and was on the gas...no upsets. This was the second track I've done since the spring swap and can honestly say, with actual experience, that my set-up is about as good as I could ever imagine. My only regret is that I didn't mount the r-compounds, which I believe would really enjoy the set-up. Be good, TomK This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (1) | Yep...daily drive the 600/500 springs. They are on the stiff side, a decent jump of stiffness from the 500/400s. Either choice comes down to use and your level of tolerance. Over the winter, I'm going to switch to the stock set-up because I dont' want the units to get beat up with salt/sand and I'd like a break from the race-car suspension rates. I'll need to give some consideration as to if I want to go back to 500/400, but it does feel so nice on track. I could only imagine whatit'd be like with my 245/40/17 r-comps... Be good, TomK |

I bet I could go an event or two before showing cords...I do love these stock tires. I figure I'm going to move to the Falken Azenis for next year on the street, or perhaps the 255 RE070s from the new S2000, depending on cost. I plan to use the Kumho r-comps next Spring for the Red group and do the TTs. You drove very well, Alex, really smooth...you'll need to move up a group next season. Vids are up, now I await yours... and you'll need to get your arse over here for a winter bar-b-que... Be good, TomK | |

I've torn apart my files in both laptops and all my cards....nothing from early in the season. I could have sworn that I saved my earlier logs but they are not yet findable. It would be great to do a direct overlay/comparo with that session, but it's not meant to be just yet. I'm bummed... But here's two more vids... Passive, for the APC fans.... | Junior STI Driver | A side question. Tom what do you use for a camera mount? I might as well put one up for this weekend at Barber. I did a search but couldnt find anything relevant. Thanks in advance. Regards, Lutfy |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Wow. I have raced about 8,000 laps at LRP. I couldn't believe for a second that you run 3's driving like you do. I used to run mid 4's all dday long in my 88 M3 at 220 h.p and a daily driven street car w/ stock sways and brakes. You never hit the apex once let alone were smmoth enough to be quick. in fact that scary moment entering Big bend where you miss the apex by 5 feet and nearly tank slap it was hysterical! better slow down dude or your sure to ball it up at the end of no name straight............. I am heqavily consodering getting an STI. Awesome cars! does this mean I could run 0 flats in your car? thats awfully quick in a street car. and that 500K point by, you drive 500K car at speed and lets see how bold you are there sparky. Bottom line, you need your instructor back in that car. you are over your head big time but to proud to know it. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
