I would not say that any CO is going to be a good "DD coilover" (especially BC, megan, etc), but the middle ground (springs) seems to make both ride and handling worse. If you are unhappy with stock, imo, it's CO's or bust. But know that you will end up with a harsh ride and some NVH. If you really want a better ride and still have decent performance, you might try the RB prodrive suspension. | |

| Spec C Club | Yeah my statement probably seemed rhetorical, but can't CO be set to a certain adjustment to make it so it rides better than the stock springs while possibly having less wheel gap? |

| Moderator | maybe, on some CO's, you can get a decent ride. Better than stock is opinion I guess. IMO, you won't find many cheap solutions that will give you as good of a ride as stock. Cheap dampers are typically garbage. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 1969 Trader Rating: (11) | TEIN SS coilovers are relatively cheap ($1250?) and are 100x more compliant and comfortable than stock. Lots of people like to bag on TEIN because of the price, or they'll tell you that all Japense coilovers are trash because they're made for the Japanese roads, etc. In the end, the only people that say TEIN coilovers don't ride well are people that have never ridden in a car with them. But I do agree...it's coilovers or bust. I've never been happy with springs in any car. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | how much stiffer would the ride be? What are the spring rates on those tein ss coilovers? My impression was that Coils were pretty stiff in comparison to spring / strut combination. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
