Man they better go through with this after all this hype. Its so awsome yet every time I see a mock up for it and I say in my head "AE86" I cringe. Because in so many peoples heads and true heart that 4 letter word means something so much different. Pure rawness, light, low power, 80's hatch style all goes hand in hand with the term "ae86" It's going to take some getting used to to be okay with it I guess. New times new things, we must move on! Woot!

This is the car I was waiting for but they kept putting the project on hold and pushing back production so I bought the STi. If/when it comes out in 2011, I just may sell the GR so I can pay cash for the FT86 and use the remaining change for bolt-ons and tuning.

My executive level insider within Toyota marketing, whom I just spoke to last week, tells me the following:

- Toyota is super concerned about reliability regarding their brand
- This is one of the major why they do not produce high-powered sports cars right now
- Subaru doesn't really want a bunch of people going over to Toyota
- Therefore, do not look for a high performance car here. It will most likely be a smaller, bullet proof, less powerful engine that will probably not be able to compete with a WRX from a performance standpoint

Perhaps this will change but this seems to be the path at this time.
