Honestly I would love to see this car with the STi 2.5T and WITHOUT AWD. It would be a true sports-car platform and the front wheels could be placed more forward where they should be for weight balance.

Not to mention what a great drift platform it would make.

I don't see where you think Subaru's torque split is front-biased. As for weight balance, you're going to see a front bias unless they run a hood like a Z4, which isn't likely. Even the original AE86 was 53% front biased. You're right that an AWD configuration would mean more nose-weight, but I think the impreza does pretty damn well despite that fact.

It will be very unlikely that this car, if it is RWD, will be sold as a Subaru. Subaru has already stated that they don't want it under their name because it might dilute their image which is based on AWD cars. Frankly, if this car is made to the proposed specs, I don't care if it's called a Subaru, Toyota, or Scion. The guts look like they'll be largely Subaru which is good enough for me.
I didn't say anything about a torque split. I was referring to the weight bias of a Subaru being like a FWD car.

Looks absoultely sick, however if they dont offer this in a turbocharged version making atleast 220 hp they have missed the mark for sure. With only 150 hp I dont see it competing with the Hyundai Genesis in a similar price range. Maybe offer the Subaru badged version with a turbo or even an sti version .

I'm very excited. Interesting to see if the engine will be before or after the front wheels.

That looks very cool! And hey I know I love putting the differential to the back wheels when I wanna get sideways a little So it would be pretty fun having a awesome car the is totally RWD! I would still have to keep my STi though because of the fun we have in the corners! lol
