Anyone notice how much the sides and back look like the '08+ STIs except squished a little and with 2 doors? It even has nearly identitcal side mirrors. It also looks like the front design came from the new Legacy concept. It totally looks like a photochop to me.

I'm intrigued.

Boxer engine + RWD sounds strange to me. If they do make this car it's either going to be nose heavy or else the engine will be set back in the chassis too far for there ever to be an AWD variant.

My hope is that it is the former, and that what we're really seeing is the return of Subaru (and Toyota?) to WRC, this time with a world beater.

No way this could be the final look on this car. All we're getting from these articles are a bunch of rumors and a lot of teasing.

The engine will be a Subaru Boxer with Toyota Direct Fuel Injection systems...so 220hp sounds reasonable.

Why not? Honda made 195+ on 1.8 liters in the Integra Type-R in 1997 with old technology.

I saw a lot of chatter about this in the Japanese magazines while over there. Seems likely. Has potential to be WAAAY more interesting though IMO. Looks really dull, and that's even a cool version mock-up. meh.

Honda engine are light years ahead, they make those result with engine reving past 8000rpm... The 2.5l is a big dinausor with a low end power band, not a bad engine, but far from be efficient and rev-happy. IMO they will use a turbo and direct injection.
