Our most popular exterior upgrade items are our line of HotSubarus.com Smoked Taillight Kits, Headlight Protection Kits, and Fog Light Protection Kits. Our kits are manufactured specifically for each particular application from a tough impact resistant 22mil (colored) or 25mil (clear) material that is designed for lighting protection first and foremost. Once installed you can wash your car as normal (waiting a few days post install). For care, we recommend using a high quality vinyl cleaner / conditioner to keep them looking good and performing for years to come.

For those of you who have already installed some of our kits we are looking for some additional photos for our newly updated (re-built from the ground up actually) website. Contact us for more info.

Back in the summer of 2005 when the first 2006’s rolled in we were first to market with a complete line of Headlights, Fog Lights, and Smoked Taillights for BOTH Sedans & Wagons! Good news, due to a smoother headlight & taillight they are MUCH easier to install than our 04/05 Impreza Headlight Kits & Smoked Taillight Kits!

HID Blue transparent protective lens covers are designed to give you the modern high intensity density (HID) lighting appearance, but without the cost. They are specially tinted to blend with halogen bulbs and produce a bright white beam pattern. If you already have HIDs these will enhance the look even further! They are manufactured from high performance adhesive-backed 22-mil softened PVC Vinyl and can provide years of service, while enhancing the look of your Subaru!

GT Yellow transparent protective lens covers are the same covers that are used in sports car racing around the world, including the JGTC in Japan, the 24 Hours of LeMans, and GT and GTS racing here in the States. They add a distinctive look to your Subaru while improving visibility is hazardous weather conditions such and rain and fog. They are manufactured from high performance adhesive-backed 22-mil softened PVC Vinyl and can provide years of service, while enhancing the look of your Subaru!

Smoked transparent protective lens covers are designed to give you the show car look. They allow you to go for the cool "Total Tints" look. They are manufactured from high performance adhesive-backed 22-mil softened PVC Vinyl and can provide years of service, while enhancing the look of your Subaru!.

Default Update

boost_happy, yes we have several roving photo seeking types looking for targets of opportunity As to your request, I'll have it looked into again.

Mr. STi, in reply to your PM here is what we came up with for the 2004-2005 Impreza Sedans with the round bump out left uncovered. Given that you are not going up and over the bump out they are WAY easier to install than out standard Smoked Taillight Kit for that gen. They would be available in the Dark Stealth Smoke pictured or in the standard Smoke depending on the look you were going for. They are not on the site as of yet, so if anybody is interested just go ahead and order the 04/05 kit in the shade you are interested in. Then make a note of this IWSTI option when you check out (there is a note section in the checkout process) and we will get them right out.

Let us know if you have any questions about them.

Do you have to get these installed by someone who does tint? It seems like there a high risk of bubblage.

Nice to see a little competition with the smoked tailight overlays.

Do you have the ones the just cover the reverse lights on the 04-05'

Cool

Bill all of kits are designed with the DIY'er in mind. The shape of the 04/05 Impreza headlights and taillights makes them more time consuming than that of most of the other applications we have. Both of these do include supplemental kit specific installation instructions though. The 06/07's are much easier to install given their smoother transitions.

You might want to ask around your area as there may be other customers in your area who have installed some of our kits who might be able to 'give you a hand' so to speak. On the professional side you might want to talk to a shop that does paint protection film rather / in addition to window tint. Our material is significantly different from and applies in a different though somewhat similar to window tint.

On a side note all of the above photos (excluding the grey powder coated wheel one) were taken within hand full of minutes of install at our old location in Dallas or here in Plano.

For those with fogs we also have kits to protect your for lights - including those of you 04/05 owners with those hot JDM Big Fogs!

I guess I'm the grey powder coated wheel one, actually its pretty easy to apply, though in the instructions it recommends using warm to hot water in a spray bottle to wet the surface down and make the over lay more plyable to work with, which it does, but I would rocommend putting maybe 5 to 6 DROPS of baby soap in the spray bottle. Baby soap won't leave any residue behind when it drys and the soap won't allow it to stick so much when applying the over lay and makes it easier when getting bubbles out. I then got out my heat gun and warmed them up a bit and to dry the majority of the liquid. Then left them over night to dry and done. Easy Squeezy. Same with the headlight applications to which I have as well, though I quite like the blue tinted ones a little more than my clear.

Cool

Yes, pretty clean looking grayed out STI

As a word of caution we DO NOT recommend adding soap of any kind to the application process. While it can make moving the material around easier it will inhibit adhesion. This will lengthen your install time, as it can be hard to impossible to get the edges and or steeply contoured areas to adhere once they have a coating of soap on them.

It is important not to confuse any of our Lighting Protection / Smoked Taillight / Smoke Out kits with thin ‘overlays’. (Or paint protection film cut to the shape of a headlight for that matter.) HotSubarus Lighting kits are made from a significantly different material and require a different application process. Overlays are made from 2-3mil sign vinyl (our standard office copy paper is 4mil for comparison). HotSubarus Lighting kits are made from a though impact resistant material that is 22mil in colors and 25mil clear. This toughness will help to protect your $expensive lights whether you are bombing down a long straight picking off people at a track day or just slogging through a long commute. This toughness along with the highly compliant nature of the material combine to make the overall install process a lot easier than working with something that can be thin and delicate. Although some pictures you may find on the net may look similar on your computer screen, there can be significant differences.

FlyinbySTi, sorry we don’t have anything that covers just the reverse lights.

Let us know if you have any questions about the products or application process.

Here is one we did for a NASIOC thread almost two years ago.

Keep in mind it is inside on the showroom floor so they do look darker than if they were out in the sun.
