Default R Comps + ambient temp?

Does anyone know the minimum temperature that V710's will be effective? I ask because the first Ax of the year will be 4/13 up here in Ct. It could very well be in the 50's that early in the year. If the tires won't be effective or chunk up from the cold I'll just run the 070's. Thanks.

Jeff

it was 61 degrees at Nationals at the start of my heat and my Kumhos sucked. No codriver and too much time between runs did not help me. Part of it was Kumhos at Topeka and part of it was a sandy Topeka course. I had advice to drop tire pressures down to 26-28 psi which I ignored and probably contributed to the problem. That said, the kumhos are going to be just as warm as the RE070s and will be the better tire. the exception is thatr road heat will warm up the RE070s.

Thanks for the info.

Do you feel running pressures that low would have been beneficial at those temps? How much lower would that have been over your normal pressures?

I don't really know. I can see that I'm not working the tires very hard right now and lower pressures will let the tires heat up faster. I have no worries about rolling the shoulders with the 3.5+ negative camber I have in front and the rears neverr roll either. I keep meaning to try it and I chicken out. I ran 32 psi fr and 30 psi rear successfully on a cold day a few weeks ago and think even lower would be good for the traction limited sites that are available locally.

Last year I ran 36 fr and 32 rear before I got camber plates I'd run 40 fr and 36 rear and higher, just to prevent the shoulders from rolling.

I asked this same question on Nasioc before our first event of the year. My first run heat it was 35 degrees and my A6's were just fine. It was about 55 degrees during the second heat and they were even better. Not abnormal wear or anything either.
