The New SCCA Solo FasTracks was released yesterday and there is some bad news.

SCCA Plans to Move Subaru WRX STi and Mitsubishi Evo from BSP to ASP. » t3h_Clap’s Wheel33tist Blog

For what ever reason the SCCA feels the EVO and STI are too fast for BSP.

I think it's b/c the Corvette guy who got 2nd at nationals is sad.

Email the people at SCCA and voice your disagreement!

basically,

the funny thing is that C4 guy was faster than the ASP guys

so he should be in ASP.

does anyone have the PAX #s for ASP, BSP and SM handy?

I agree that this stinks. Just like the exhaust clarifichange for ST* last year. Someone on the SEB must have an anti-awd complex or something.

Quit picking on Harold. He's a proven national champ with a long history in SCCA Solo, a great asset to the program, and he has a legitimate beef.

And yes, SEB has this out for comment. It is not nearly a done deal, and it is clearly anticipated by anyone paying attention.

Definitely, do send your comments to SEB.

looking at the #s he's fast as hell. I'm not questioning his ability as a driver or a person.

I just don't understand why he's advocating bumping the EVOs and STI's out and ignoring the S2k's and his own vehicle.

I admit I haven't been reading the SCCA boards fully, it's almost painful to read alot of it.

If there was something I've missed don't hesitate to point it out.

what's your take on the whole situation? would you mind a jump to ASP? prep the car for SM?

if this all passes you should have a leg up PAX wise than any ASP STI.
