Do we need a boost gauge to reset the ECU? I thought all that was needed was just to disconnect and reconnect the battery ground and that would take care of it.

wait wait... all you ahve to do to reset it is exactly what you said... disconnect the battery for a while and then reconnect it... to reset the ecu in 5 seconds according to vishnu's explanation (this is to reset the ECU to maximum output) you will need a boost gauge... sorry or I guess you could kinda guess *shrug* if you have the intake silencer out, you may be able to hear it/feel it out.

When I installed the grounding kit, I followed Vishnu's method... albeit blindly without a boost gauge. I just drove up a nearby hill in my 3rd gear at about 2500rpm. The car became responsive almost immediately after this exercise, so I am thinking I got it right. You might want to try the same.

As for resetting the ECU, I followed Vishnu's method of disconnecting the battery and holding the brake for 4-5 seconds. That reset it very quickly.. :-)

Robert

Thanks for your quick reply to my email. I have one more question. Are you using 2 gauge cable for the grounding kit? in addition, on Silver STI, black cable will look good? Or u have another opinion? Thanks again I will submit my payment with paypal very soon.

Thanks again
Stavros
