Hey whats up guys, just picked up my WRB STi last friday night and thought I would see who was around in the area. I live up in St. Mry's GA but get down to Jax at least once a week. Hopefully I can time it right and get there for one of the meets just so I can get to know the community and some ideas. Just enrolled in a autoX training day for Saturday just to see what it was like and see how far this thing can be pushed, hopefully I'll be done with the 1st 1,000 miles by then. Only 450 to go. (Sad, I picked it up with 3). Later.

It took me 2 weeks to get my 1000 miles - it was a pain too.

Yeah, what a drag. Hate to drive my STI......hahaha!

Dang, where is my car? Looks like a pretty good group showing up to this month's meet. I just spent a week in TN....did a little sport bike riding on some mountain roads.....looked like it would be fun in the STI too....

Did you go to the Dragon? Actually, that would be a hell of a trip to set up for the STI. Acomodations and everything is very well priced, not an expensive trip, but very awesome.

I've been doing the Dragon "Deals Gap" on a sport bike since the 80's (dang I'm old). Didn't do it this time, was with my wife & she has her own bike (Honda 650 Hawk)and likes Deal's Gap also, but we were a couple hours away....I wanted to go! We settled for some other twisty mountain roads in the area (not as good)and did some exploring. I also know a ton of other mountain roads that I like as much as the Dragon that are not patrolled as heavily and have less traffic. These mountain roads are even closer to Florida. Lot of scooters at the Dragon....can get kind of dangerous.....people crashing all over the place. Cops confiscating bikes. I only like to ride it during the weekday..... and then just a couple of passes and then I'm outta there!

Our trip was based on dropping our son off at scout summer camp. The wife and I camped at Fall Creek Falls and did the hiking, mountain biking, river swimming, motorcycling, Ocoee rafting thing......I'm really tired.

I definitely want to do a road trip to the land of the killer twisties when I get my car....

Hey Karl,

I hope you were in RV or somthing, that's a lot of stuff to carry aournd on your bike (bicycle, camping gear and a child)

I used ride sport bikes, and always wanted to go up there but I don't own a truck and I can't imagine riding a GSXR for 8 hours to get there. But now I've given up my bike anyway so an STI trip up there seems like a real chance.

UA, we actually tent camped ($11/night!). I've got an old ford minivan and borrowed a motorcycle trailer to haul the MCs and mountain bikes with. Too bad you no longer have a bike as it is not too tough of a ride...although I prefer to trailer the straight aways! I have ridden up on the bike before....once.

OK, here's a great road trip for the STI.....take I-75 thru Atlanta and catch 400 north to 60 to Suches Georgia and turn right on 180 (twistiest road in GA). Go about a mile on 180 and turn right into the High Valley Resort. You can camp, RV, rent a cabin, whatever at High Valley Resort. This used to be an extension of TWO (Two wheels Only - MC campground). Anyway, these are real mountain twisties and tons of fun! You can easily day trip it to Deals from there and back, although these roads are so fantastic you really don't need to! Just stay on your side of the road please as the MC's may be blasting by without warning!
