Yeah, I figured it would be. But me thinks Josh is headed for something bigger (larger turbo?) than I'm looking for. I've got no plans to add a BPV, FMIC, etc... Josh, you got that kartboy shifter on yet?

I guess I misheard Ben....I thought they were Ecutek but I guess it makes sense that they do UTEC since they're a TurboXS shop. UTEC is TurboXS right? Anyway, I figured they were anti-AP because it alleviates the need for the tuner.........

I don't think they are against AP, but if you think about it the whole point of tunning si to adjust everything to your climate conditions and your car and the fuel you use in your area. AP is justa general map that increases performance. I'm sure it'll give you some gain, but to really maximize your peroformance you will need a tune and a good EM. Plus, AP is $645, when you start doing more mods you'll need to get a ST for AP which is another $475 plus all the tunning, UTEC is anywhere between $900-1000 depending on where you get it and you can have 5-10 maps you can switch between, not to mention there is not any StreetTuner tuners arouns here at all.

I really like Ecutek, but what it comes down to is Ben uses Utec and he'll only tune Utec, so if I want a local tuner I have to go with Utec.

Thanks UA. Yeah, I just don't plan on doing many mods to maximize performance...(we'll see how that goes!). I guess I never considered UTEC before so now I have to throw that into the mix for consideration. I'll talk more with Ben. I guess another option is to go to Tampa - I hear they do Ecutek at the Suby shop there. Thanks for your input. - Karl

No problem. I've been trying to make the same decision for a while and have reading everything there is to read about it.

Now, if Scott Siegel comes down to Jax and does some Ecutek, than I'm pretty sure that would solve my problem, however it is just wishful thinking.

Word's speading....I'll be there...Last Thursday of the month...Don Pablos...

Cool...I've been kinda getting burned out on the Bike Night thing anyway...this'll be different...

BTW I have the AP running STG2/93. Yup, it's off the shelf, but it optimizes your car about 85% of it's potentail with a stock turbo. I'm good @ 85% optimization, to get that extra 10-15%...yes you have to tune.

TXS TBE, green panel drop in, AP....works really well for me.

Phattey...

Welcome Phattey, great - finally to hear about someone locally running AP. 85% is fine with me too and I don't have to have the fastest STI in town. I still have time to decide on EM so I'm exploring the options.

How do you like your TXS TBE? Did you have the local shop install it?

KarlSTI - Thanks...Great site..!!!

Love the TXS/MagnaFlow....very good sound and yes..Ben installed it.

AP's not for everyone. But it's good for me...constant updates and easy to use. However, if I wanted that last little bit of power..I'd tune instead.

CRAP...3rd Thursday is the 16th and I'll be in Atlanta...I'll miss this event...I was planning to bring my new Dig/DVD Sony Video too.

Unless I can get my girl friend to take my car and you guys keep an eye on her , I wont' make it this time...bummer.

Good deal. I just got off the phone with Ben. Nice guy...I think I've decided against UTEC and will probably go either Ecutek or AP. Sounds like he can do the Ecutek tune.....I think thats what he says he has in his WRX. I should just put all this out of my mind since I don't even have my stinking ride yet!!

Everybody every now and again will have a miss. If he has done 100 cars and 1 was bad those are pretty good odds for me.

I talked to Ben yesterday and he said they should have Ecutek by July 18th.
