UA STI

I was at Jax Raceway last night saw you run. I did about 3 runs with my last at about 12:15 or so. Went 9.22 bone stock. my 60' was SLOW 2.1 Did 3 runs 2 were 9.2's one was a bad lanch at 9.7. Need to get my 60' times down a bit to shave some more time off. I had the WRB STI but I think I was parked by the time you got there.

It was busy there though.

I haven't seen any oil burning as of yet, everything seems to be fine.
Right now just the regular Subaru dealership oil, their service guys told me to wait until my second oil change before going syntetic.
Around 5200 miles right now.

With everything done to it, I know I can get it into 8.4-8.5 area. I made 2 pretty big mistakes on my run and didn't get a chance to run again.

Also, with CAI and TBE my gas milage actually improved slightly, went from 21 to almost 22 miles per galon. However with STG2 it dropped to about 20 miles a galon, but the mid range is crazy fast now, boost comes on at very light accelaration loads, not to mention that with TBE I was pushing about 16.4 pounds of boost and now I'm peaking at 18.4-18.5.
Thanks UA. Nice list of mods. I like lots of midrange.....When did you go AP? You seemed kind of down on it earlier in this thread. I guess you didn't try AP Stg 1 or do any dyno runs. How do you like the TXS TBE? I was thinking about AP Stg 1 and then AP Stage 2 with a down pipe only to start. I should do dyno runs along the way to see real data.

Liquidcalm, I was getting my wristband right when you did your last run. I thought I was gonna see more subie action out there and it was busy! I hope to get more runs in next time.
I never got a chance to try my car stock, but I can't wait to go back and re-run again.

Karl,

I wasn't very thrilled about the AP at first, I got it installed last week. I got a good deal on one. My plans changed a little. At first I was planning on going very big, new turbo and everything, but now I decided to settle down and keep it fairly close to stock for now. My mods are about as far as I'm going to go for the moment.

I will say, I'm very pleasantly surprized at AP. Very nice power gains, mainly it something you can deffinately feel every time you drive the car.

And I really like the TurboXS TBE, it looks very close to stock, all the guys that saw my car at the meet can vouch for that and it has a great too sound, not too loud, at 80 on the highway with music playing you don't even hear it.

Usually on Tuesday nights you can make as many passes as you want. The wait in the staging lanes is about 5 minutes max on some tuesdays, I hear.

Never been on thursdays, havent been out on tuesdays for a long time either, since I've had my STi even. One of them, either tuesday or thursday, i cant remember which, is when its full of fast domestics(as in not even street legal kind of fast) and thats about all thats there. Its not a lot of fun then, even if your just racing the clock.

Yeah, I looked on the calendar and both Tuesday and Thursdays are track and tune days, but Tuesday is a GM day and Thursday is Street Night, so I think I'll go and check it out this upcoming Thursday after work.

Ok, I might go out there as well, depending on the weather and how I feel. I cant launch the car yet so it be better to embarrass myself on thursday in front of maybe a hundred people, then saturday in front of a couple hundred.

I just think it'd be better to get a few runs in and get a good feel for running and on Thursday you gotta be able to put more runs in than on Saturday.

Well me and UA STi went to the track tonight, good times. We raced 3 times, I was able to beat him once when he messed up his launch, and I got my only good launch of the night. But he did really good, I let him tell of his kills. It was my first time to the track and my first time ever trying to launch the car. I ran five times. Here they are in order.
First run lost to UA STi pretty bad:
10.2 @ 71.6 with a 2.4 60ft (Horrible I know)

2nd run beat a black S10 very badly:
9.5 @ 75.3 with a 2.2 60ft (better) to his 11.8 @ 58

3rd run beat a red neon:
9.4 @ 74.5 with a 2.1 60ft (even better) to his 11.3 @ 61

4th was and clearly the best of the night for me:
8.9 @ 75.8 with a 2.0 60ft very close race w/ him trapping higher

Last one I messed up the launch again:
9.6 @ 71.3 with a 2.4 60ft

Overall I was very pleased with the car and with the exception of the last run I can definately see an improvement in the times. Look forward to doing it again, and seeing some more people come out.

I ran 8-9 times total, I could fry some eggs on my intercooler after I finished.

Long story short, accomplished what I wanted.

Best run:
8.56@82.73 with 1.89 60 ft time.

Now I have to wear a helmet.

Next goal, 1.8 60 ft times and hopefully, somewhere in the 8.4 range.
By the way, it is much better on Thursdays, you can get a bunch of runs in and barely any ricers.

No srt-4's this past week. The street class was fairly small, I believe it was just our 2 STi's, yellow T/A, blue Z06, older red 4dr neon with kit, black S10, white blazer, red eclipse, and 3 crx's. I think thats about it, maybe one or two more, but I dont think I sat in the staging lanes for more than two minutes to make a run all night. Small crowd, small wait

BTW, is everyone meeting up this coming week (072805)? Seeing as how its the last thursday of this month. If so, same place, same time???
