What's up guys, another Jacksonville STI chiming in. An STI at 21, cool, just keep it between the line's youngster (just kidding, I'm only 28, but I feel older). I live in the OP/Argyle area and have seen a few STI's around here. I had never seen a silver STI until I bought mine about 2 month's ago, but now they are everywhere around here, what's up with that?......later: Mike

Well I'll definitely be waiting for the insurance drop then.

I havent seen too many silvers around here. Seems to be a popular choice in wrx's, but I rarely see the silver STi's in my commute.

Ok. Went to Jax Raceways yesterday. Only got there at 12:30am. It was packed, it took me an hour to do my first and only run.

Result: 8.79 at 79.81 with a horrible 1.993 60 foot time.

Well, it was my first ever run in this car and 2nd ever time at the strip, so I'm not too disapointed. I missed 3 to 4 shift, I though I'd be able to make it to the end in 3rd, but hit the rev limiter. I know with 2-3 more runs times would improve a lot!

Hey at least you have a baseline now! What kind of mods do you have so far?

2 more questions.....1. break in method? 2. oil consumption? 3. oil you use 4. current mileage. OK, that's 4.... ~Karl

Answers:

I have a TurboXS TBE, Injen CAI, AP Stage2 93, lightweight pulleys.

I did my break in by the book, 1000 miles under 4K (except a couple of times when I didn't have any choice).
I haven't seen any oil burning as of yet, everything seems to be fine.
Right now just the regular Subaru dealership oil, their service guys told me to wait until my second oil change before going syntetic.
Around 5200 miles right now.

With everything done to it, I know I can get it into 8.4-8.5 area. I made 2 pretty big mistakes on my run and didn't get a chance to run again.

Also, with CAI and TBE my gas milage actually improved slightly, went from 21 to almost 22 miles per galon. However with STG2 it dropped to about 20 miles a galon, but the mid range is crazy fast now, boost comes on at very light accelaration loads, not to mention that with TBE I was pushing about 16.4 pounds of boost and now I'm peaking at 18.4-18.5.
