IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | We have added a discount code for all car club members. This is a limited time offer of $20 for a weekend pass. Tickets can be purchased on etix GT LIVE | The Interactive Motorsports Festival The discount code for this offer is PCC08 and will be valid for 10 days starting 9/5. What is GT Live? Subaru will have a major presence at GT Live on Saturday October 4th and Sunday October 5th at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. You can visit the GT Live web site at GT LIVE | The Interactive Motorsports Festival Sometime on Monday September 8th the website www.wrxtrackattack.com will go live with all of the details of a Subaru driving event to be held on the skid pad at VIR. You will be able to register to drive a Subaru performance vehicle on a closed course with a professional driver. The course will be an auto cross type layout and the cars will include the all new 2009 Impreza WRX, the 2008 Impreza STi and the Legacy GT. Three driving sessions will be held on Saturday and on Sunday. Walk ups will be allowed but the majority of the spots will be filled with pre registrations on the wrxtrackattack.com web site. Many other Subaru related driving performance events will be held on both days. The South Central Region will host a Subaru only parking area adjacent to the Subaru driving event on the skid pad. More details will be released on that soon. There will be drawings for Subaru give aways, for free go cart track time. for ride alongs on Tarzan;s lapping sessions and the Subaru Road Racing tram will be vying for the championship of the Koni Challenge series on Sunday on the road course. Last year over 100 Subaru owners attended GT Live and the Subaru specific activities that were held there. This year we are expecting a lot more Subaru owners to attend, especially to get the chance to drive the new 2009 WRX or the other Subaru performance vehicles at the WRX Track Attack event. And you can bring your non Subaru friends so they can get the chance to drive on the WRX Track Attack course as well. Be sure and note that you you must pay to enter the GT Live event at the gate to get in. Nearly all of the other GT Live activities are included in the general admission entry fee. Plan to be at GT Live on October 4th and 5th. It is going to be a big Subaru meeting point with a lot of great performance driving activities. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (6) | I went this year and this was soooo much fun! I ran AWD Street in the Redline Time Attack. I placed 3rd with a 53.3 second run on the patriot course. This time was 2/10ths of a second off from 1st in AWD Street taken by a much more prepared EVO (FP Green Turbo, FMIC, Cams, KW 2-way external reservoir Coilovers, 2 piece rotors, aero, etc...). Based on what I know about evos, my guess is the EVO had to be running well over 400whp. For those who don't know my car, my mods are: pink springs, downpipe, stage 2 map (off the shelf), sway bars, camber plates, and HP+ Pads. I ran the promo Subaru autox driving the new 08 WRX. I ran a 25.8 sec lap. The subaru reps said they thought that time was FTD for saturday out of the participants. Watching the Koni challenge was amazing too. There is nothing quite like wheel to wheel in fully tuned USDM autos. The unlimited class time attack cars were also astonishing to watch! The Topspeed Impreza took the overall win. The Cwest S2K looked sweet too. As much as I hate to admit it, watching the Pro-Drifting competition was really fun. My favorite was the beastly supercharged G35 that sounding like it was making wood chips out of redwood trees. |
