IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | When my car was pro-tuned a month or two ago... he loaded a few maps for me. One of those was an "economy" map which I never tried until yesterday. I was always wondering why my mileage seemed to be crappy, even on the highway at cruising speeds... it's been that way since it was stock day 1. My best average cruising to and from work (20 miles 90% highway) was about 20. Seems no matter what I did, I didn't change the MPG too much. My usual average city/highway mixed is around 18-19MPG. I drove to Vegas yesterday (here now) and I wanted to load the Economy Map from HB for the drive over. Now, granted the power and "fun" factor obviously goes COMPLETELY out the window... ![]() 250 mile trip, I still had 1/3 tank left! My average for the whole trip was 24.9MPG!! ![]() I gained almost 5 MPG with this map loaded, on the highway! Considering this was up and over the mountains to Vegas too, that's pretty darn good! I think I would have been higher, had I not had the long mountain pass climb for about 20 minutes. I'll do it on the way home too, and compare both directions. In any case, if anybody gets a pro-tune have them load you an economy map for your car... it can definitely make a difference. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Looking forward to your results. Also, did you use the cruise control as well? If not, try that and I bet it goes even higher. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Ok guys... On my way back I averaged 24.6, so basically the same... can't complain! It sure makes a big difference in range, even from 19mpg to 25mpg... |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | i drove up to cambria for the weekend and got 28.997 MPG on Jons map.. i didnt get any economy map.. from what i understand, any time youre running under 2lbs boost, its economy. after that bets are off. |
