Just curious to know what the increase in hp/tq would be if the heads were added to a stock stage 2 enigne. Would a bigger turbo be necessary to really feel the investment of better heads? Thanks.

Absolutely, the stock VF39. 38lbs wheel really can't keep up with the flow capability of the Stage 2 head. The cams push the power curve to the right, but if the turbo can't keep up (which it can't), you'll see a bit more midrange and that's about it. I'd recommend at the very minimum an RR500 or FP Green with these heads, but honestly you'll want to run a GT30R or larger for these heads to really come alive.

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks for clearing it up for me, actually looking at a 20g upgrade and I don't think that will be enough to deem these heads worth it, but they sound like great heads. Any word on your STi header coming out? That is what I'm intrested in?? thanks edit- just saw your comments on the header thread, question answered, lets us know when it will be close.

Hi,

Yeah these heads would pretty much be an overkill for the 20G. Have you looked at the RR500 turbo? We just got in 25pcs and they are superior in performance and priced less than most 20Gs. Give me a call if you're interested. As for the equal length header, we're working as fast as possible! Thanks

Hi,

Here's the Helix RR500:

Basically it's a 47lbs wheel with a modified TD06 turbine and a race-spec 8cm hotside. It basically does what an FP Green does at 2/3 the price.

Cheers,

Gary
