IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | Hey Guys-- I was doing 1/4 miles down at englishtown last night, and I went against a 04WRX w/ vf39, DP, UP, TBE, UTEC. The ****er was keeping up with me--I have 2007 Sti with stage 2 custom map @ 298awhp. I was ahead of him by 1/2 car or less at the quarter, but I was suprised how quick that car was, and he swears those are the only mods. I was running about 13.2 @ 105, and I forget exactly what he was running...damn close. Is this normal? explanations? This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Well a 13.2 is great man, and I am honestly not that great of a drag racer, but I think you can improve your times. What are other stage 2 cars hitting on your track? I ask because a local track LACR (now shutdown) used to be reknown for super slow times, but people knew that are compared times accordingly. Basically, work on your driving. But in reality La Mer has a point, he has very similar mods to you, but with a much weaker transmission. |

You may have been a little heatsoaked and he may not have been. But with those mods he would be pushing power close to yours. |

| 18x9 +35 coming! | it shouldnt be surprising that a vf39 wrx is keeping up with you. those cars can dyno upwards of almost 300whp and plus one less shift to go through... although it doesnt have the torque... |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | What exactly is the "stage 2 map"? What mods does that include? I was under the impression that a stock STI would go 13.2... |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | yah i think your tune might not be that great with a 105 trap. What was your 60 foot. Also he has an 07, so he does not have to shift into 5th |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Vrrooom- stage two is commonly refferred to as turboback + tune. Some stock stis can run 12.9 some 14.0, it depends on altitude, driver , gas, weight of driver, shift points, tire pressure, etc. 520- Even though 07s can stay in 4th for the 1/4, but in reality they tend to run faster by shifting into 5th (this is stock turbo) |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | I wonder what rpm an 07 would be at at the end of the run. Cuz even tho they don't havr to shift into 5th, they may be on the decline of their power band and shifting into 5th may actually help This ad is not endorsed by this member.
