IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Hey GST, your "old school" car is a beauty! I would love to have/drive something like that! Isn't that about 2500lbs and 500whp on slicks etc? |

As for horsepower depending on turbo and track we run between 350-550whp. Thanks for the kind words, you were at Buttonwillow in April right? Swing by for a chat and a beer if you have time! Mike | |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Yep, that was me admiring your car at BW a while back (I got 2nd in street awd). I used to beat on Subies back in the '70s on my mom's ranch so I have always had a soft spot for older ones (not that yours is that old). I liked subies when only hippies and lesbos liked them, I wonder what that says...... ![]() 2850 is still enviable compared to my fat-ass in my car at 3500..... ![]() I'll stop by and say hi but YOU GUYS need to drink lots of beers, just to even things out a little. ![]() JCM |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | You know how the saying goes? "You don't bring a knife to a gunfight" Yeah, not heeding that. I'll be there, driving the Subiesport 2007 Legacy GT project in mod class. If you haven't been following this one, it's currently equipped with a VF40 18G, Perrin turbo-back, H&R springs, AVO rear brace, Ecutek reflash (tune courtesy of TDC tuning and Tim Bailey), Perrin TMIC, and shod in Nitto NT01's on 18-inch Prodrive PFF7's. Just the recipe for a serious ass whoopin' from those GT35-equipped guys. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (2) | Hey guys, mxpop here, The bad news is that the GST Suby guys got beat by a great effort from AMS Evo crew who had to replace a blown turbo on race day. GST had their share of problems to overcome with a broken cam belt pulley and looked awsome all weekend but just got squeezed out of the win. The good news is that I won both the street and the mod classes with my STI! I too had to deal with mechanical issues when I broke an axle on my 7th lap of practice Saturday. Being a 3.5 mile track that was new to me, the loss of track time was a big concern. The great guys at HarmanMotive actualy took an axle off of one of their cars and drove out to Vegas to get me running the next day (they even had to dig their truck out of the mud at 2am on the way there, but thats another story.... ). We got my car back on track and it ran flawlessly from then on.The mod class was close with the top 3 within 2 seconds (3.5 mile track!). I even beat Robert Fuller of "Robbiespec" in his 600+whp, GT40 car on 275 tires (I have 245's on stock wheels and about 380whp with my unleaded tune without meth!) "Mines" Evo got second, also with 275 tires. I won the street class by a comfortable 5 seconds. I also only got to do one run (2 laps because I went off at 130mph and filled my car with gravel, I even got hit in the face with some ) on my well used REO1 street tires and only 2 (6 laps total) on my Nitto NT01 race tires.I just want to say thanks to the event organizers for running a great race and especially to all those who have helped and supported me. A special thanks to the great guys at HarmanMotive who really went over the top to help me out, I definitely couldnt have done it without them! I'll try and get some pics posted soon. Harman will have some great pics too so check their site in the near future (including some video of Ian getting nauseous on video after a practice run with me.... ). Also, the great guys from Subiesport magazine (Ricochet!) were there and I'm sure they will have a lot of great pics and video to share soon. Sadly, this wasnt a Suby sweep at this historicaly Evo event but it was close. I hope some of you can find some internet chat on some Evo forums that may be full of excuses etc, I would love to hear some of them! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
