We go to Canada for the good tracks. Calabogie, Mosport, & Mt. Tremblant. Check out COMSCC.org Its a Massachusetts club and they do events all over the northeast including the Glen, NHIS and Lime Rock. Lots of subie guys run with them.

Be sure to read the rules before signing up for a track day with COM. There are four basic classes for the STi: SSGT, STGT, SPB, and PB. SS is stock, you can only change brake pads and tires. In ST you're alowed suspension, wheels, tires, intake, exhaust, and a flash that does not change boost. SP is nearly unlimited. You can do anything except a non-oem motor or transmission swap, fender flairs, or gutting. Those mods throw you into P. SP and P require a fire suit, 5pt harnesses and a roll bar. P also requires a window net.

So if you're running more than stock boost, or if you've changed your boost control system, you're in SPB and you need a cage. The good thing is that autopower cages are cheap and can be found locally without a problem if you are patient.

The other great thing about COM is the compeditiveness. We run a time trial on the afternoon of the second day. It makes things a lot more fun.

We self class, so no one will be checking your car to see if it is legal for your class (except for other compeditors in your class). You choose your class when you register for the event. Then tech checks to see if you have all the safety equipment for your class. They don't check to see if you're legal for your class at tech.

So by the letter of the law, yes, you need a cage if you're stage 2. But you can 'cheat' in ST and unless you're at the head of the pack, or you announce it to everyone, no one will protest you.

ST does not allow boost changes because not all cars are turbocharged or supercharged. Raising boost in ST would give those cars a very unfair advantage.

COMSCC schedule for the remainder of the '07 season:

<table style="width: 479px; height: 48px;" border="1"><tbody><tr><th>Date</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Reg.
Opens</th> <th>Close</th> <th>Cancel</th> <th>
</th></tr></tbody></table><table border="1"><tbody><tr><td>August 20 & 21
Monday-Tuesday</td> <td align="center">NHIS</td> <td align="center">July 5</td> <td align="center">July 30</td> <td align="center">Aug 6</td> <td align="center"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>October 20 & 21
Saturday-Sunday</td> <td align="center">NHIS</td> <td align="center">Sep 5</td> <td align="center">Sep 29</td> <td align="center">Oct 6</td> <td align="center"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>November 16 & 17
Friday-Saturday</td> <td align="center">Lime Rock</td> <td align="center">Oct 2</td> <td align="center">Oct 26</td> <td align="center">Nov 2</td> <td align="center">
</td></tr></tbody></table>
$395 for both days. (not each day) August 20-21 is already full. I won't be going to the October event. I'll be going down to VIR instead. But I will be at Limerock in November. I may do an NHIS open test day before October.

You can get a competition license from many different clubs including COM, NASA, BMWCCA, Skip Barber, and SCCA (membership with these clubs is not the same as a license). Just about any club that rents out NHIS will give you a license. They all have different requirements before they'll give you a license. Read up on their respective websites.
