This is not 100% true. A change in boost behavior due to a rev limiter modification would be an indirect change to the boost. Kind of a silly example anyways given that the ECU does define behavior above red line or even outside of the defined maps.

The cobb map is made with aggressive timing/fuel curves and the resulting boost from bolting on a better designed downpipe while running 100 octane. Map information can be attained by reading the maps notes.

Well, until it comes up against a official national protest we will not know for sure.

Ok just wanted to make sure as Im getting a tune w/ chris from xx and I want to utilize all the parts I can. So an aps65mm intake, and gms turbo inlet and aftermaf hose will be ok to install as long as I have an STU map correct? Sorry if its been asked before but Im a noob this year to STU and the intake rule is a little confusing. Thanks.

As long as you don't have to do anything else to install this stuff, it should be legal, as it is all ahead of the compressor inlet. I read somewhere that some of the inlets require that you move some other stuff around, and that may not be completely legal. In other words, you can't do something illegal to make a legal mod work. I am not familiar with the turbo inlet and hose, so I can't tell you which way it falls.

The CAI is legal as long as you don't have to modify the body to get it in. I got the 65 APS in without having to get out the dremel, so I know that is legal.

Here is a thread on NASIOC about the legality of the APS turbo inlet, which may be similar to yours:
APS inlet STU legal? - Motorsports - NASIOC

Tires are the #1 mod next to seat time. Period. Next up camber and coilovers.

I guess I'll chime in too, not with any 2 cents, but with some more questions:

I thought STU would be the class I would want to run in, so I went and bought some wheels and tires (not for discussion). I ran my car at the Colorado Divisionals, and now have a couple questions.

I decided I probably want to go AS eventually, but not right now (recent purchase, don't want to go to waste). So, I'm thinking I want to keep my car as stock as possible, and just learn to drive.

I've been reading through here, and I am debating camber or sway bar. For the lack of money, I can do about 300 dollars worth of work. So, camber plates, a front sway bar, or camber bolts?

I am worried about the camber bolts slipping. I heard the 29mm Whiteline sway bar is awesome. And I am absolutely lost on camber plates (a lot to think about when fitting, how much it raises the car, if everything will clear).

The reason I am debating this one, is, after running 2 days (6-48 second runs), the edges of the tires are wearing a little more than I think they should be. This is obviously due to the camber. So if this if a common problem, why do people say go for the sway bar first, before a camber enhancement? Yes, sway bars equal less roll, therefore less camber change throughout the suspension travel in a corner, but still....

Any help would be great!

if you are thinking about going back to AS, then the only mod you can do now that will be legal in AS is the FSB. Camber bolts/plates are not legal in Stock class.

...and if you really want to get into legality, Struts that allow for more camber aren't legal either.
