Default Open Road Racing...

This looks interesting. Does anyone here have any experience with this? Completely legal, closed course.

Looks like a fun way to spend a weekend, be it a bit hot!

That looks like something I'd rather do on my old CBR1100XX than my STi.

One of the guys I work with has done a few of those events I see. He was a co-driver, and I believe still has the top speed record for the Silver State Classic.

edit; Just checked and yes he still holds the record.

After looking into it further, it still looks like fun. You just have to pay full price for your speeding ticket before hand, you don't have to go to court, and no points on your record.

Yeah, it definitely looks like fun... but not something I'd want to do with my car. Just entirely too much wear and tear.

A sport bike however... now that would be good fun. Because it costs less to get one with a higher top speed (180+ mph), they can be run flat out all day long, and you don't have to worry about mechanical failure or extra wear and tear.
