Default Redline Time Attack 2/10-11/07 California Speedway

February tenth and eleventh will be Redlines first Time Attack for the 2007 season. Saturday the tenth will be an open track day for all to play where Sunday will be the actual Time Attack with three classes to choose from, street, modified and unlimited.

All you need is a snell 2000 helmet and a car that will pass tech to race. The tread ware rating of your tires will place you in the appropriate class. If you have a 140+ tread ware you can run in the street class, a 50 tread ware and above puts you in the modified class and below a tread ware of 50 puts you into the unlimited class. These are the basics and the rest of the rules can be found here: http://www.redlinetimeattack.com/index-2.html

We proudly support the Redline Time Attack series and are one of the many companies that will be offering a contingency sponsorship program for their competitors this year. Check it out, there will be a lot of free shwag going to the top finishers in all three classes; http://www.redlinetimeattack.com/Contingency_Info.htm

Bring your Subies out and let’s show SOA that we can stomp the EVO’s buts. This will be the first race of the 2007 season for Team Crawford Performance. Our goal this year is to put Subaru on the podium all season long. Please come out and give us a hand!

Two bad wrecks today. Damn rain. I heard both drivers were ok but RX-8 was totalled and VW R32 (I think?) damn near totalled. Congrats to mxpop. Last I saw, he ran a 1:20.4 and had the fastest time in his class.

I will post pics tomorrow. The RX-8 was done (anyone know the driver's condition?). The VW R32 wasn't that bad. The driver and I talked after looking the car over. Lt. Qtr. Panel was toast, as well as the hood, left fender and a few minor bits. I also spoke to the 997 GT2 driver after his off road excursion. He's going to need a part and some labor, but he was very blessed.

I met lots of really nice driver's, teams, mechanics, etc. and didn't meet some of those that weren't all to friendly. But, that is just life. Rado blew up the stock Scion motor (500 flywheel) and almost lit the car on fire!

I got a free T-Shirt for being a foreigner (Alabama).

Crawford did very well, placing first in Modified. They were extremely fast.

sounds like a great event. The the second motor that rado has toasted in his "effort" to get into time trailing... but i think the car needs a LOT more work (as does the driver).

I cant wait to see the pics and congrats to crawford!
