Thanks for posting the pictures and videos, I enjoyed looking through them. The new logo looks good. Was that you dropping an ''F" bomb on yourself in the Pocono North Course PDA HPDE Driving School video? LOL

yes! i was cursing at the lame Lotus Esprit driver who didn't understand that you have to lift when allowing a faster car to pass during a DE. he must of thought he was racing.

i saw him do the same thing the next session to another driver. he was an idiot!

i'll look to see if i have video of it happening.

Very nice indeed. I just watched the first vid and that CRX was pretty damn fast. Was it a hybrid (swapped)? It seemed like you were so close to passing him if he just would've made one mistake.

This next month (Memorial Day weekend) will be my first time on the track with my STi. Any hints or pointers? I'll be on stock wheels/tires unfortunately.

glad you enjoyed the vid.

yes, that was Jim. i enjoyed running with him during a few of the sessions. he has some fancy-shmancy JDM motor that's been stroked. he had R comps on also. i let him in front of me on our 1st run together to see if he would get away. although he was slightly faster in the twisties we were pretty evenly matched.

but it's not a race.

i run stock tires. the more the tread wears on the RE070s the better they are for DEs.

1st time advice? i could give you tons and tons but keep it simple. hope you get a good instructor and pay attention to what they say. practice smoothness and learning the proper line. check your tire pressures after the first run when they are hot. good pressures for your tires can make the difference between sliding all over and strugling for car control or having a wonderful run.

then work on being in the correct gear before and after turns. don't worry about what your speedo says or heel-toe.

1st time is also a good time to evaluate whether or not you want to do it again and again.

Default Rate East Course?

Nice videos. Was just wondering how you rate the East Course compared to the other courses at Pocono. I'm doing the east course for the first time on May 7th. I saw motorcycles racing on the east course last october while I was there with PDA on the North Course.

Also, check your lug torque before you start, and after each session!

East course is by far the most technical of all the infield courses (North, South and East). i think you'll enjoy yoruself.

which one of these was you in October? i was also there in the Blue Run Group.

i think this one is Ed (turboice) from NJ...

look me up whn you're there on the 7th. Vishal "technica" will also be there on the 7th.

I am the jerk in the middle picture, no license plate, black helmet. I've been running in the white group. Less crowded than blue. Just went up to Limerock a couple of weeks ago. I used to have a mustang for the track, the Sti is much more fun in my opinion.

Oh I know an HPDE isn't a race. It's not my 1st time on a roadcourse, but it's my first time on the roadcourse in my STi. I've had my old '03 WRX and '00 ITR out there before.

I was just looking for specific things to look for with the STi. Obviously I'm dealing with a MUCH more powerful car now.

Yes, nice video Tim. From what I can see, you have a nice line. I'll be there on the 7th, my first time out this year.

thanks rick. i'll be there tomorrow as well. should be a few other STi's attending as well.

i liked that they didn't have cones on the course this time at every apex.

i'm going to try something different tomorrow. it didn't occur to me until i was watching the vids myself.

you come off the straight with a late turn-in left hander with a tiny kink and it's up to 4th gear before braking for the sharp sweeping left. i'm going to early apex that left a bit and then just stay outside instead of turning further left if i took a perfect or late apex. i think it will basically put me dead straight to the hairpin right hander.

we'll see if it makes a difference in lap times tomorrow. oh, and i was trail braking all day. it was fun since the course was cold and the RE070's never got hot enough to get greasy.
